Like I said , next generation, I didn’t say it was ground breaking.

Folks like you are common these days, entitlement culture is rampant.

I’ll tell you like it is, they didn’t do it right and that left a door open. If it wasn’t me, it would be someone else, but I’m the bad guy for picking up something and improving it. Not only that but taking the money and donating it back to that site.

I will say there’s a strong contingent from Calguns that absolutely helped us and why we regularly donated/give back, not to mention the effort put into everything.

When people look beyond platforms and at the purpose of what we’re doing, it feels right.

I think freemium is the appropriate model for this niche. It's kind of interesting though the people that don't want to be charged are the same ones that complain about immigrants using up resources though. I think it's good for people to try and support the site if they want. I don't think I put too much emphasis on upgrades, but moving in that direction now that the stats are showing that people get a lot of value from the site.

Now that merch is coming out, etc. there will be ways where this can be sustaining and I won't need to work multiple jobs to make a living.

This site is bigger than a hobby site and over engineered for sure.

Since you want to jab at taxpayers, it’s like paying for a members only website and then ….keyword…”illegal” hackers (in large numbers) coming in and using the resources that members paid exclusively for. Then when you logged on, everything took a long time to load and you were waiting forever to have access to the stuff that originally signed up and paid for. Then when you want to read forum’s, a lot of what you see are posts about how great Calguns is and how all Caguns was built on stolen internet space . I could go on and on but you see the point. Saying “immigrants” is far from accurate. Btw I’ve always appreciated the site and will donate once my back account is out of negative and have never complained about anything being free and people should be charged.
I’m just pro- American and believe this country became what is is based off its original foundation and beliefs.

You’re good bro, and yes my analogy might be off but you get the picture. Ultimately I want to give folks like yourself a better experience so we can all grow the space together, even if we differ on things here and there. I think we can do a lot and looking for the “firepower” to make a bigger impact.

The operator needs to strike a balance between offering enough basic services for free to attract and retain a strong user base, while reserving certain features for paid members to generate revenue.

Personally, I think allowing free members 2~3 listings per month strikes a good balance. It keeps occasional sellers engaged while still giving frequent sellers a meaningful incentive to upgrade to a paid membership.

This site is miles ahead of the casino carpet garbage that calguns is. Bigger and better always comes along when there's opportunity and failure, and that's what calguns has been for a decade.
