I've noticed 7.62x39 has dropped to roughly .40pr, down from nearly .50pr a year ago...

Things are definitely getting better, but still not nowhere it was years ago.

That means “IF!” it ever drops down to AT MOST $300 per 1000 rd case of steel case; BUY…….

Russia has also banned export of ammo until Dec 2025 or so.....

i heard sanctioned Ammo makers just move their load to another country and re label it to be from Rom/Czech/Bulgaria/Serbia, etc.

Ever try TELA (not Tula) steel case from Azerbaijan? It’s not bad; groups and impacts about the same as Tula steel case.

Ammoseek is showing 0.32 ppr for Prvi Partisan Brass. as of this AM.

Most other prices are still hovering around 0.36 - 0.37 ppr... Signs of progress, but yes once it hits 0.30 or lower, I'm buying!

It’s not bad, you don’t get that chalky feeling like Tula and is lacquered.

Unfortunately, not for a while.

I do miss shooting the cheap corrosive stuff (Brown, Silver Bear?) when .223 and 5.56 were in short supply at times.

Not for a very long time. Same with Chinese ammunition. I miss the days of inexpensive brass cases ammo.

Good, that Russian steel cased is crap.

Tulammo berdan primed is my #1 failed ammo. Red Army Standard is not that bad.

the best part of not having that crap around is that you don't have to massively overgas your rifle just so it will shoot steel case. I can load 223 for 25 cents so I'm perfectly happy never thinking about steel case ever again.

Still sitting on ~15K rounds of Golden Tiger I bought way before Covid, at around $180 to $200 per case (if I remember right).
