I’m guessing it’s their answer to making a 2011 super reliable? I dunno. They are reliable and don’t have the mag issues that 2011s can have. Granted. Propriety not cheap mags
I really wish the div 77 guns were available. Those look NICE

And just a guess but they will have some way to make an optic cut and this will just fall into the category of “standard” Wilson offering that you have to pay for/order the optic cut

I didn’t think mag issues have been a thing for 2011s for like 5-10 years… I don’t mind not being optic ready, a mill job gets the optic in a better position than a plate allows so it’s a wash on convenience. This wc just looks busy and ugly to me

Sure, mags arent an issue if it uses Glock mags or p320 mags or you use really expensive mags, but they all involve some sorta “solution” that either does something to the grip or just plain costs $. Wilson EDC mags are cheaper than high end 2011 mags, but I think max out at 15? I don’t think they come with more capacity than that so there is that. (Actually 18).
I dunno. I like my gen 1 EDC x9. Granted mine doesn’t have a LCI or that print in red on the left. But yeah doesn’t have classic 1911 lines for sure

I'd be fine with the price if it shoots $1000 better than a Staccato C2...but the irons only slide in this day and age at this price point is an absolute dealbreaker.

I mean it’s a Wilson double stack. Did you think it would be any cheaper? Same thing with nighthawks right? Ain’t no cheap double stack nighthawks with or without optic cuts. I mean what’s the price of a new 1911 Wilson? CQBs are same price ballpark aren’t they? New anyways. There exists a market for Wilson’s, nighthawks etc

I had a C2. It (EDC) does shoot better with a shorter barrel (mine is a 3.1? 3.25?) but that’s a pretty fair comparison otherwise. Double stack. Similar grip length. It’s a much better shooter than the HD c3.6 I have. But it’s also much heavier. And doesn’t use cheap ass Glock mags. It’s all trade offs. But yeah, I can guarantee that in my hands/eyes anyways there’s zero chance it is $1k better than a C2 lol but it’s better!

2011 mags are inconsistent at times probably because of the different tolerances. There are $700 to $10K guns all taking the same mags.

My personal experience with EDC X9 1.0 and the Staccato's 24C have been great. They load and lock back reliably every time with all kinds of ammo. Both guns have dedicated mags designed for the platform.

Playing with my X9 1.0 and the Staccato HD the X9 definitely feel like a better built and higher quality gun but the HD lines are cheaper and have better features. With the Sig's GT4/5 coming to the roster I just don't see much of a market for a $3.7K gun that isn't optics ready in 2026

Here’s an issue. This is a “carry” gun right? If you mill out the LCI, some CCW IA will not approve it. My IA needs the LCI and mag disconnect to stay on the gun if it came with one. They wont pass it on inspection otherwise. They dont care otherwise, but if started with a LCI and mag disconnect it has to go through inspection with one. Look at attached pics of the gen 1 with cut. I have no idea how the LCI is gonna work

The GT4 is marketed as a carry gun, a 42oz carry gun lol

My point being at $2100 retail price, about $1600 less, it comes optics ready so it’s something on the cheaper side of 2011ish products on the roster. The Staccato C4X has more features. I think this will sell to some smaller numbers who really wants one but the buyers evaluating cost/benefit will probably skip this one.

On another note, I went out to Burro Canyon with a few buddies today to shoot drills from the holster and my P229 Legion SAO outshined the X9. It’s such an underrated gun.

The legion SAO guns are underrated. But also not on the roster. And the new ones are pretty pricey anyways. I am on the look out for a 229. Got a 226 and 220. And the new X5 226 legion…..definitely on the wants list

Edit: i dont even see the 229 legion on sigs website anymore. Did they stop making them? Did the 226 carry legion replace it?

It's truly a neat gun. It's bigger and heavier than something like a G19 and the X9 but it's got a nice heft to it to tame the muzzle rise. It's also dead nuts reliable with a great trigger from the factory. It's one of those under appreciated guns.

You like SAO guns though. I think you'll find it to be a fantastic piece.

The 229 Legion SAO's were discontinued a few years prior to the P226 Carry Legion came on the market. The 229 grips are shorter making them a bit better to conceal.

It's truly a neat gun. It's bigger and heavier than something like a G19 and the X9 but it's got a nice heft to it to tame the muzzle rise. It's also dead nuts reliable with a great trigger from the factory. It's one of those under appreciated guns.

You like SAO guns though. I think you'll find it to be a fantastic piece.
