Get rid of the dark background? Using the Style Variation sporcket looking icon top right, it doesn't do that.

📢 Classifieds Update — Effective Monday, September 21
Starting Monday, the free Classifieds ad limit will be lowered from 3 to 2 active ads.
Verified accounts will keep their limit of 3. All other account limits stay the same.
Existing ads are not affected and will remain up until they expire.
Want to keep 3 listings and add features like removing comments and emojis? Upgrade/Verify your account

You don't have the option to choose a lighter background for now. I'll update that at a later time. I have to find a good image to go back there.

I'd be fine with a simple light gray background, no image needed. Consider putting a pallet up with 6 (4? 8?) color choices and worry about images down the road if needed. As is, its wasting 1/3 of the desktop.I'll leave it to you or anyone else that wants to volunteer...

Disregard- found it next to the gear icon "Customize". Now just to collapse the left and right vertical border width to maybe an inch each? Sorry to be a style queen here LOL

This is screen dependent. It's fixed at 1300px In the same customize area you can click fluid width, but I guess we can modify it to 1400px since modern screens are a bit bigger.
I've updated it to 1400px. This is probably the max we should go for desktop displays
