At this time, correct (I think).

Our Dear Leaders would need to either try to say that it is illegal to purchase out of state (in direct contradiction to this ruling), or they would need to try to make the Roster apply to OPLAW transfers/registrations.

Sadly, California FFLs would still be bound by the Roster, so wanting something cool and shiny would require you to physically go out of state to buy and then bring it back.

Watch California implement some kind of convoluted state law to try to prevent this. They can’t regulate interstate commerce, but they can try to tie it up in the courts using our tax dollars for years. This state sucks.

The only thing I could think of is if the gun was sold with a 10+ round mag then the mags couldn't legally be brought back.

Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) announced today a major victory in Elite Precision Customs v. ATF, with the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit holding that the federal government’s ban on direct interstate handgun purchases violates the Second Amendment.

I can absolutely see the state trying something else to keep the level of overbearing restriction up. Hopefully, if this comes to pass, there will be a window of opportunity (Freedom Week 2.0?) to grab off roster goodies before the next BS law or tax burden gets put in place. Best to keep a close eye on this.

True, if the mag capacity ban is still in effect in this hypothetical scenario, you’d have to leave/sell/block them before coming back.

Still, that would be a minor inconvenience compared to the roster as a whole. Hell, some of the off-roster variants’ differences are literally only the mags they come with (eg Beretta 92FS that come with 10 vs 15rd mags)

I'd drive to AZ to buy an M9A3 or A4 and it will work just fine with the 92fs mags I already have.
