Look what you wrote. It's bait, and it's political. Re-read my prior comments because I've already explained my position. Are you one of those that believe Trump suggested drinking bleach?
Muscle memory matters, which is one of the benefits of training.Lapd CCW is max 7yds and i pretty much just did point shooting the entire time. But I’ve shot a few thousand rounds with my pistol and am confident with it.
Of course it’s baited, but have fun with it. Learn to engage with a wit and wisdom befitting the quip.Look what you wrote. It's bait, and it's political. Re-read my prior comments because I've already explained my position.
The conversation hadn't risen to the level of banter.Of course it’s baited, but have fun with it. Learn to engage with a wit and wisdom befitting the quip.![]()
That’s all any of this really is when you get right down to it. Just a bunch of guys pulling their puds, talking about guns. The conversation hadn't risen to the level of banter.![]()
I get it and most of the time I'm one of 'em.That’s all any of this really is when you get right down to it. Just a bunch of guys pulling their puds, talking about guns.![]()
OK fellas, let's not let another post devolve or get political.I've already made my case here. No need to drag politics into it.
Lolenthe people who hit the F-ing ceiling? Im always amazed by this. Some of what he says is correct but one thing he says about hitting close up targets and you can’t miss is very wrong. I have seen, with my own eyes, people who couldn’t place a single shot on silhouette targets at 7 yards. Not even on the paper. And they are actually trying to aim.
He’s making the point that spending too much effort on aiming and not on the mechanics of shooting will result in crappy shots. You need to be able to fire the gun without altering the attitude and direction the gun is pointing. Until you can do that aiming is useless.
Years ago, it took me about 30 rounds of .357 in a Blackhawk to get on paper at 10 YARDS.Every story or video or YouTube uses a headline to draw you in.
If you set aside the headline and watch and listen to the video from 00:24 to 00:32, he says,

The phrase "Aiming is useless" is literally wrong, and doesn't relate to your explanation.Every story or video or YouTube uses a headline to draw you in.

Right, so aiming is secondary to shooting mechanics, but not useless. That's a reasonable claim.I seriously think that some “random guy on the internet” blood was already boiling, after reading the title of the video.Their only purpose to watching the video is/was to crap on it in the comment section.
He literally said aiming doesn’t until you get your fire control skills dialed in. I completely agree. He didn’t even say you can’t miss at short distance, he said people miss because “…they move the gun everything the squeeze the trigger.”
Sure, the title is misleading and controversial, but that’s how he gets people’s attention to his video.

And if you don’t have solid mechanics, you will pull the gun off of your sight picture, so the effort you made to aim is in fact useless.Right, so aiming is secondary to shooting mechanics, but not useless. That's a reasonable claim.
"Useless" is the wrong word. Maybe secondary to fundamentals, sure, but it's never useless. The whole point of a proper grip and other fundamentals is to keep your aim true and not to disturb your aim.And if you don’t have solid mechanics, you will pull the gun off of your sight picture, so the effort you made to aim is in fact useless.
OK, so stop."Useless" is the wrong word. Maybe secondary to fundamentals, sure, but it's never useless. The whole point of a proper grip and other fundamentals is to keep your aim true and not to disturb your aim.
Sometimes we have to know when to stop polishing the turd.
