"Aiming is useless"

Some of what he says is correct but one thing he says about hitting close up targets and you can’t miss is very wrong. I have seen, with my own eyes, people who couldn’t place a single shot on silhouette targets at 7 yards. Not even on the paper. And they are actually trying to aim.
Lolenthe people who hit the F-ing ceiling? Im always amazed by this.

Every story or video or YouTube uses a headline to draw you in.

If you set aside the headline and watch and listen to the video from 00:24 to 00:32, he says,
You need to be able to fire the gun without altering the attitude and direction the gun is pointing. Until you can do that aiming is useless.
He’s making the point that spending too much effort on aiming and not on the mechanics of shooting will result in crappy shots.

Years ago, it took me about 30 rounds of .357 in a Blackhawk to get on paper at 10 YARDS.☺️

The phrase "Aiming is useless" is literally wrong, and doesn't relate to your explanation.

What's funny is how people keep trying to explain a literally incorrect phrase to me like I don't have a mastery of English.

The person saying "Aiming is useless" should express that aiming can be deprioritized or offer nuanced context without the declarative and incorrect hyperbole.

This is really an error of logic, or a false dichotomy. Both aiming and shooting mechanics are important. It's okay to focus on one or the other without erroneously claiming either is "useless".

Insomuch as responsible gun-handlers always know which way their guns are pointing, aiming is paramount and the opposite of useless.

I seriously think that some “random guy on the internet” blood was already boiling, after reading the title of the video. 😂 Their only purpose to watching the video is/was to crap on it in the comment section.

He literally said aiming doesn’t until you get your fire control skills dialed in. I completely agree. He didn’t even say you can’t miss at short distance 🤦🏻‍♂️, he said people miss because “…they move the gun everything the squeeze the trigger.”

Sure, the title is misleading and controversial, but that’s how he gets people’s attention to his video.

Right, so aiming is secondary to shooting mechanics, but not useless. That's a reasonable claim.

That’s all any of this really is when you get right down to it. Just a bunch of guys pulling their puds, talking about guns. 🙌

And if you don’t have solid mechanics, you will pull the gun off of your sight picture, so the effort you made to aim is in fact useless.

"Useless" is the wrong word. Maybe secondary to fundamentals, sure, but it's never useless. The whole point of a proper grip and other fundamentals is to keep your aim true and not to disturb your aim.

Sometimes we have to know when to stop polishing the turd.
