Another P320 goes off in a holster

This reminds me of the USAF incident, all the internet guys and reddit going off like animals frothing at the mouth against Sig, just for it to end up being manslaughter and deceit by the two airmen who went to prison IIRC (?). He for sure had confinement.

Then when the truth and real facts come out, they are silent and bite their tongues and pretend they never said anything, or double down reddit style. Funny how that works.
Everyone knows it was coverup and sig paid off air force to keep contract. Poor innocent airmen who went to jail for Sig’s fckups is scapegoat.

That too. I had a guy I know who's serious into competitive shooting lose his 💩 and froth about how Sig did a coverup and forced the airmen to perjure themselves and plead guilty to manslaughter. Unreal lol

Claims either way are just that, claims. That's why we have investigators to find the real facts.
Yes, if this is a stock gun that will go off without trigger pull, let’s see it. Send it to a lab. Hell, sure as F- don’t send it to Sig if it’s true, sue their ass and prove the gun is defective, you’ll win millions in punitive damages by substantiating all the rumors/claims. I’ll hold my breath as no one’s done this yet.

I've brought this up as well with friends that are P320 haters and random internet people and again, crickets.

Don’t look now, but you’ve just summed up modern politics for both sides.

And it looks like the angry gun moms of California are going after the wrong gun. Maybe instead of a Glock ban, it should be an Sig ban!🤣
Ironically the P320 passes the CA safety checks and drop safe tests but Glock can't get their gun to pass lol

If Glock never did that, why would Sig?
😂 To give a little context, the term “Glock leg” originated in the 1980s and 1990s when so many law enforcement officers claimed their Glocks had discharged on their own. After decades long investigation, most of those incidents were ultimately determined to be negligent discharges rather than mechanical failures. Today, Glock is widely regarded as one of the most reliable pistols in the world.

Most of those law-enforcement officers were trained on revolvers prior to semi-automatics. I think it would’ve happened no matter what manufacturer they were shooting. And one glaring difference is Glock did something about it with a trigger safety bar. They didn’t deny it, and they didn’t blame their patrons. I’m not a Glock fanboy nor an Sig fanboy, but the way Sig handled this made me want to avoid their products altogether.

That is his point. If Glock didn’t need to do it because the issue was “debunked”. Supposedly the Sig issue has been “Debunked”. It’s hard to ignore that it happens so much with ONE single model. You don’t hear about it with a P22x series. You don’t hear about it with P365. The lack of noise can often times be proof itself.

The only reproducible discharge video I've seen involves holding the trigger just short of the break point and then wiggling the slide. However, the question is whether the movement of the slide itself introduces enough force to increase the pressure on whatever is holding the trigger, causing additional trigger movement and ultimately allowing the sear to release.

To be fair, I wasn't even able to get my stock M18 to fire by doing exactly that.

No they didnt.
Glock did absolutely noting because there is/was nothing wrong.

I agree SIG made one poorly worded statement but has continued to say there is nothing wrong and has sent out guns for testing via 3rd parites etc.

We now live in the age of social media, where attention-grabbing topics are quickly amplified and widely repeated. Content creators are always looking for the next story, and another P320 allegedly going off on its own certainly generates clicks and discussion.

I can't say with certainty whether the P320 can or cannot fire on its own, but so far I haven't seen a successful lawsuit that definitively proved a P320 discharged without a trigger pull. The debate is still ongoing, and people on both sides continue to point to evidence supporting their position.

I find it interesting that there isn't a market drop on them. I still see them for sale at ~$600 to $1800. You would think that all the negative news would cause prices to go down.
More evidence the internet isn't real life. lol. I've seen reddit comments saying they can't give theirs away and they're worthless yet I can't find these nearly free guns to buy...

They defended themselves from tons of lawsuits, and Glock is still being sued to this day over it lol

Glock only had to put in a 12 lb trigger pull to stop the cops from shooting themselves lmao.

"we now live"

Bro, some of us were born into this hellscape

It has been years of emotional roller coaster between feeling comfortable using it and keeping it in the safe because of the FUD. I like shooting my P320 (m18) and I've never had any issues with it but
(i) I really hate SIG's messaging and posturing, and
(ii) there is smoke around the discharges - I just don't know if its statistically prevalent enough for me ever get the flame

I just used my P320 in a combat pistol course last month. I was hot holstered at the start of every drill and even a tactical game at the end that involved stress test (exercises) followed by live fire. Stress test involved burpees and sand bag tosses with a hot p320 on my hip. A few guys had the 320 x legion and did the same drills. It was on my mind even before this story and that is just the reality of owning a p320.

But, every time a story like this comes up I take a pause until all the details come out. I'll switch to my G19 or P226 for the next class or until more info comes out. Why not play it a little safe
