That’s Quinn. She’s 9 now and she’s definitely slowing down. Funny story, I took her on a boat to do a lobster dive off of Point Loma a few years back. She watched me descend under the surface, and just before I disappeared, I saw her jump off the boat and swim towards me to save my life!

Wow, thanks for the offer! However, I’m looking for .357 or 38 special for my 627 S&W. I’ve been thinking long and hard about getting into reloading 38 Special. Looks pretty easy. Should be able to save a little bit of money.

If you are not needing tack drivers, I recommend American reloading. Their shipping times can be excruciating and their inventory is more volatile than a bitcoin options chain but if you have been collecting your brass, you can load .38SPL for under a dime.

I like the RCBS taper crimp dies better, it's a 3 die set it seats and tapers with one die so especially if you are on a single stage it's gonna save you a lot of time.

Step 1 buy a good bound reloading manual and read it… read the front part while you are accumulating tools and materials. Buy used tools, even if broken, the reputable manufactures stand behind their product. I’m a fan of blue and green. IMO buy once and cry once but there are plenty of other quality machines out there. I’m pretty die agnostic. Lots of deals to be found on the 2nd hand market. If time is at a premium, the Dillon progressives are king of the hill. That said, my first few years I made everything on my rockchucker. I bought it with dies and other odds and ends for $100 a little rusty and used, 20 years later it still works like a champ. I made 30 rounds on the old rock chucker for my garand and shot them yesterday … I won’t unwind it but there is no way in hell those rounds cost me $10… probably closer to $5. They shot better than factory

Haven’t really noticed yet. Still seems like i can find when im patient 9mm for like 210/220 per 1000 (115gr range stuff) and slightly more for 124gr.
223/556 is stubborn. The hey day of 25c/round or so seems gone. But can usually find (if you are patient) for under 40c/round. (FFL03/COE)

I doubt the Iran thing (so far) has any impact on ammo prices. Ukraine war is more likely the drain on components as they burn through a lot of small arms components there and it’s still ongoing.

38/357 i dont shoot that much so i reload it. 308 i def reload as the prices of that never really came down. 45 acp is sorta borderline reload/buy for me right now.

I have not looked at component pricing lately. I would not be surprised to hear that they are up. Primers never dropped back down to “normal”

I primarily order through TSUSA and have noticed since the last two notices of industry price increases (since end of last year) 9mm has crept up by about 1-2 cpr on average. Not much of an increase and expected since ammo was at an all time low since COVID.

The bigger issue I'm noticing is the popular brands going out of stock for longer periods of time. TSUSA supply of affordable .380 has been absent for weeks now, the cheapest going for 43 cpr.

1. inventory is shrinking rapidly on the reasonable costs access for 9mm, 300 blackout, and 380 ACP
2. the existing costs are going up - Ive noticed approx a 5 cents/rd increase on 9mm; no access to cheap 380 or 300.

They always have flux in choice and access but watching whats there go up in price and the affordable options are quickly in backorder status.

Yup, saw a sharp spike in 9mm. There was awhile there where the LGS had Magtech 115g, 124g for 200-220, now the best I can find locally is 280 per 1,000. Glad I grabbed several cases, but I already shot most of it, lol

I may be misunderstanding your comment here as I don't understand the whole context here, but if you are referring to him being an FFL03 allowing him to sell more than 500 rounds a month that would be incorrect. He would be transferring them as a private citizen still constrained to those limits.
