Law Appeals Court Blocks California’s Background Checks for Ammunition Buyers - (7-24-2025)

Observation, experience, and critical thinking ability. Limited yes, but a much better option than the lies told to the masses by the corporate media machine.

You know, with the way everyone loves to play "gotcha" these days with politicians and media, it's pretty difficult to lie to the public without being exposed, especially when you are a large news outlet. Legit news outlets hate to publish anything false because it really sucks and damages their reputation when they have to print retractions. It's a little different with politicians, be it Biden, Newsom or Trump, they just lie and lie and lie, so fast that a normal person's head spins and can't keep up with the fact checking. I think that the new crop of politicians count on that really fast paced lie fest to confuse the public.

People do that everywhere these days. There are people on forums like this one solely there to try and play “gotcha,” with strangers. It is like a ridiculous exercise of self affirmation and worth.

The internet, social media, enthusiasts forums, all have really brought that out in a lot of folks.

As for the people who lie for a living. They are generally sociopathic, so they really don’t care when they get caught in a lie. It just comes with the job and apparently lying is worth the money to them.

People have to know that the CADOJ will never be truly objective. They will use anything possible to maintain control. Their lawyers will attempt to use ridiculous examples of old laws that were clearly racist in attempts to limit the 2A. I personally saw this happen in Judge Benitez's courtroom. They are not interested in protecting the rights of the people, they are determined to maintain the supreme power of the government as much as possible.
We all know they will NOT clearly give an opinion of the legality of a gun configuration or part, even if it clearly is legal. Instead, they will say it's up to the 52(?) DA's to make the determination of whether or not to charge. This is clearly not in the interests of the normal, law abiding citizen.
We are fortunate to have the team of lawyers that are working on this situation. That you to them, and all lawyers making the effort to defend the 2A!!!

This man gets it. ☝️

I think this has run its course -

We have discussed the ruling ad nauseum. We have had the smartest legal minds on CA gun laws and regulations weigh in with clear explanations of where we are at on this - https://www.calgunlawyers.com/updat...happening-with-ammunition-laws-in-california/

So, I would be closing this due to the excessive virtue signaling and DMCs that are taking place expect for the fact that there will be an announcement one way or the other on the en banc decision.

If these chirpings continue, and yes @SLORNR I am talking about you, I will lock it until the en banc happens an then reopen it.

Everyone understand ?

Never met or spoken to anyone who relies on The View for news, I don't think they claim to be journalists, do they? I've seen some straight up crazy 💩 on Substack. In general it's really difficult to weed through all the slanted bull💩 and just get to the facts. I've found Axios, The Hill and Stratfor to be quite reliable with reporting facts and also the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Sometimes the facts can make your team look really bad or really good but, I'd rather have the facts than bull💩 propaganda.
And again nothing to object here. With caveat that most people who claim to be journalist are not.
They also thingy disguised opinion commentators . Especially in places like NYT and WSJ

Not just CA but all governments, local, state and especially federal. It's one giant power trip, the people in control want what they want and many of them will break the law and ignore the constitution to get it. Just like the people who are not in control. There's something about human beings, we feel the need to force our wants and desires on everyone else. Yeah, there are a few law abiding and constitution respecting people out there but every year there are fewer and fewer of them.

On true journalism sites and papers, opinion pieces are always clearly identified. When shows bring on talking heads, I always take that with a grain of salt. There are talking heads I am familiar with and who I respect but, there are a lot more talking heads who are completely unknown people with questionable credibility.

Before he died, I always sat up and took notice of what Colin Powel had to say, just as one example. Chuck Rosenberg, former US attorney and administrator of the DEA is another guy who is a straight shooter, etc.

I placed two orders on Ammo Day. I didn't receive any ammo, but I had two completely different experiences.

Freedom Munitions: I've been a customer for well over ten years and have sent a lot of their product downrange. My recent shipment never went out, so I called today for a status update. The young lady was polite, explained that their legal team was working on it, and it would be shipped out when issues were resolved. After thinking it over, I called back and asked to cancel the order. She was nothing less than polite.

Midway: I've been a customer since the 80's. They're rarely the cheapest, but they're usually consistent and reliable. Like others here, I got the notification that my ammo had shipped, and later that it was held up by a government agency. Today I called for a status update. The phone answerer assured me that the government had released the shipment, hadn't opened any packages, and my ammo would be delivered a day late. Just fifteen minutes later, I got a notification from UPS saying that Midway had requested that the package be returned to them. So I got back on the phone with Midway, and the joker told me that they had indeed requested the package be returned, and there was no need for me to worry. My money would be refunded as soon as they received the package. After hearing that, I become less tolerant and asked that they refund the money immediately. Not only did they misrepresent the pending delivery of my order, but they won't refund my money. Not that it matters much, but it's the principle. It took my credit card company five minutes to reverse the charge. As soon as I'm sure this has been resolved in my favor, I'll delete my Midway account. There are plenty of other stores willing to take my money.

I got a delivery from HSL and scheduled for palmetto via ups tomorrow. Plus 2 from target sports. Placed all them last Friday. Just an FYI.

Twice in recent months I got the see the insanity in person.

1) Very few people went to the in-person argument in the Oregon Supreme Court on Prop. 114. But I was there in the gallery
and got to hear the State's opinion of what the law meant in what was the history of firearms use in the US, and Oregon in
particular. It was like somebody for a different culture from a different planet was talking. Completely unconnected with
reality. The concept of the rights of the people, or the obvious meaning of the 2nd Amendment, or the Oregon Constitution
did not seem to apply to any concepts, ideas, or behaviors they spoke about.
2) The live discussion at UCSD(??) with Erwin Chemerinsky and a rational person on our side was played live on Zoom. It
was the same looney tunes nonsense. Rights? According to Chermerinsky, there are none: only the needs of the state
apply to any and all situations. The obvious and original meaning of the Constitution have no place in today's world!

It is hard to understand how some people are just disconnected from reality, and are in positions of power. But it happens
quite a bit.

It is hard to witness no doubt, but even harder to see people fall prey to it. Many start to fall for the propaganda of the state and they will confuse privilege for liberty. Whether unwittingly or not, they have succumbed to the state.
