Just sent my G20 slide and barrel off for C cut/ porting and it has to be sent back to an FFL even though I already own the MF. One of my go to shops is willing to accept the shipment for me, for $40. Pain in the ass overall.

It definitely doesn't have to, they are choosing to make you do that.

Incidentally your FFL is also ripping you off, the FFLs here will accept items from companies that don't want to deal with the AB1263 stuff for like 10-20 dollars.

Correct. This doesn't prevent a misinformed retailer from demanding to send your slide to a FFL, though.

If it's a barrel, yes. Doesn't really matter what purpose the barrel is for, as long as it fits the legislation's definition of a firearm barrel.

Now, will CADOJ care about a 22lr conversion barrel of all things? That's a question only you can answer for yourself.
