Nice. You should try to jump into the big match they’re doing on 4th of July weekend. A bunch of spots just opened up for both days.

I am getting a few things together. I need to decide which firearm I will use, and pick up a holster depending on which one I choose, and a couple of mags

I think it would just run in limited optics instead if you don't. Since its a first match I will probably just run my MP2.0 with the carry comp slide anyway since I won't be all that competitive regardless.

Yup magwell makes it limited optics

For carry optics, yes you would have to remove the magwell. If not, you can shoot in limited optics. Honestly though, since you’re starting off, don’t worry too much about which division and just get out there

what guns do you guys use for matches?

What guns do you have? You can shoot almost anything. I’ve been shooting my CZ SP-01 in Production (Iron sights). If you have a pistol with a dot you can shoot in CO or LO depending on if it’s DA/SA or striker (CO), or SAO (LO). I would recommend CO if you have a gun that fits it, more people to shoot against and does are easier to learn. But if you don’t have a dot, just pick whatever full size 9mm gun you have and shoot Production. Better to just get out there and give it a try than wait and try to build a gun for competition… you’ll have a blast with whatever you currently own.

Carry Optics doesn’t have a round limit, but your magazines can’t exceed 141.25 mm (5.561”) in length.

Hello I am looking to get into competition with my m&p 9 2.0 full size and I was looking into purchasing base pads for my magazine but am having a hard time due to websites not shipping to California. Is there any places in southern California or websites I can purchase from?
