Best on-roster handgun to purchase?

Oh no, I mixed up which gun manufacturers do md/lci or single shot. Get over yourself. I've been in this longer than most at 43 years, so I don't even bother with California nonsense and most of my arsenal is ppt.
WTF are you talking about?? 🙄

Best on roster pistol has to be the 226, reliable, accurate, tried and true.

Want something fancier on roster staccato HD

I think the most versatile firearm has to be the
P365 X-Macro
You will never regret it.
Great grip angle
Ergonomic
Red dot ready
High capacity
Concealable
Reliable

^ this. Amazing folks ask "what's best" without telling folks what it will be used for such as "a hammer". Yet folks reply anyway...
They answer because whatever they put is just for fun. But some people are unable to fathom such things as "fun" and "firearms".

Lots of good stuff still on the CA Roster that hasn't been manufactered in a few years but being discounted on Gunbroker by people in free states upgrading to the new stuff.

I haven't looked at guns in awhile (maybe 2018?) and the rosters changed quite a bit. I definitely regret selling my USP 45 for $600 :'(

What're the best/your favorite options that are on roster now?
Why stick to the roster when you can get whatever you want new or used on this site via PPT and skip sales tax and the 11% CA gun tax?

C&r pistols, 50 years and older are exempt from the list. In my opinion, a Tokarev pistol. Its very thin and very powerful, not a noob pistol by any means. But I have carried one extensively chambered and half cocked, don't rely on the safety. In fact, I traded off a 1911 which I paid over double for after getting a Tokarev. It will also fit inside a leather IWB holster made for a 1911 no problem.

People ask way too much on most for sell

People ask way too much on most for sell
Some do, but ultimately everything is negotiable and the market decides the price. A lot of people like the ease of a quick sale for a good price. In my experience guns in shops almost always cost more than what you can get them for here in the classifieds.

There has been a lot of good insight, but the question was asked what is the best gun you can legally buy in CA. OP didnt specifically say for EDC, home defense, comp or range toy. He simply posed the question, "what is the best?: I wager anyone's choice against my Atlas Erebus. It will shoot circles around any gun listed in this thread. Yes it is expensive but you get what you pay for. He asked for the best, and the Erebus is clearly the "BEST" gun you can buy period right now anywhere.

Wasn’t the question the best on roster gun? Erebus technically a roster gun.
