CCW Bodyguard 2.0 Owners: Comp or Non-Comp?

Yes there both tiny I plan on seeing them in person today hopefully I find a lgs with both in stock Ontario area

Is that some type of grip tape on the slides?

I plan to do both
Order of use
1. Iwb with suit and tucked in shirt
2. 4 O’clock suit …
3. Athletic pants/shorts
4. Pocket when I need to lazy or quick walks day or night

Now that the Bodyguard 2.0 has been out for a while and so many people are raving about it, I've decided to pick one up to replace my Sig P238 on my CCW permit.

I originally bought the P238 for situations where I'm wearing a suit with a tucked-in shirt or pocket carry. Since then, I've gotten comfortable carrying my Shield Plus in those situations, and the P238 has mostly been collecting dust.

With the Bodyguard 2.0, I'll have more capacity than the P238's 7 rounds while carrying a lighter gun for suits, shorts, pocket carry, appendix, or 4 o'clock carry.

My biggest question is whether to get the compensated version or the standard version.

I carry a Shield Plus regularly and also own a 3" V-Port slide from M&P. Shooting them back-to-back, I can definitely tell a difference, but that's a larger gun in 9mm.

I don't plan on adding a red dot to the Bodyguard 2.0.

For those of you who own both versions, or chose one over the other, what made you decide? Do you feel the comp is worth it on a gun this size, or would you stick with the standard model?

I'd appreciate any feedback and real-world experience.

UPDATE:

I just went to my lgs checked out both I’m leaning to the Carry Comp
But guys wow I’m so impressed this little thing feel so good in the hand excited to get one

The dot is visible during the day. Its brighter at night. There has been a dot in the box ever time after 500 plus rounds.

Its a pocket ccw not a competition gun. What's the most likely use case scenario? Probably within 10 yards? Do I really need a dot at that point? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I was so impressed with this little guy
My conclusion is to get the carry comp for myself
And the regular for my wife hopefully this will push her to get her CCW as well

You're not wrong. I just couldn't pass up the factory comp version. I still can't believe this little gem is on the CA roster!
 
I am glad I rented this thing first, it's so tiny. I had a hard time staying on target with it. Barely any recoil, but I know it's my trigger pull because of how small the gun is.

Also rented the Shield X and to me the Shield Plus shot better.

Somewhat related, I also shot the CC9 and liked it, just a little snappier than expected, and could use more texture along where the support hand palm sits.

How is the trigger on the Bodyguard compared to the Shield Plus? I have a Shield Plus and trigger is a big improvement over the original, but no where close as good as my Prime and other Caniks. Looking at these new Bodyguards and thinking of getting one of the versions. No red dots for me on pistols, so leaning towards the comp version due to the better sights.

I suggest renting first. It's a very different shooting experience compared to the Shield Plus.

I have the shield plus and carry it. I only checked out the bodyguard today.

You can’t compare it to the shield plus
One’s a subcompact and ones like a pocket baby mini gun lol

I would say the trigger comes from the same home, but obviously the bodyguard is much thinner and smaller in size

But coming from a shield, plus you’ll be very comfortable with the bodyguard

How many rounds through your shield? I shoot very well but the QC issues with S&W worry me lately and has me holding out for a CC9

I don’t keep count but many thousands
Never had an issue nor did I hear anyone have issues with the shield plus
 
Only issue I had was not with the shield plus but with an aftermarket rear sight that didn’t fit tight enough to the shield plus.

It’s to bad the p365-380 isn’t on roster. Out of all the little pocket 380’s I shoot it the best and that is the one I kept. It’s only slight wider than the BG2.0 and was worlds of difference better for me.

The lux is on roster but that thing is just a different animal price wise and larger.

Isn’t the .380 the same size and dimensions as the the 9? (Is there anyway to convert it)

If so I don’t think you can compare the BG2.0 to it
365 compares to the shield plus

BG2.0 compares to the LCP and Sig P238

The point of the 365 .380 is to be a lighter easier shooter compared to the 9

The BG2.0 is a much lighter thinner platform that’s in .380 it’s has a different purpose
