CCW Bodyguard 2.0 Owners: Comp or Non-Comp?

Isn’t the .380 the same size and dimensions as the the 9? (Is there anyway to convert it)

If so I don’t think you can compare the BG2.0 to it
365 compares to the shield plus

BG2.0 compares to the LCP and Sig P238

The point of the 365 .380 is to be a lighter easier shooter compared to the 9

The BG2.0 is a much lighter thinner platform that’s in .380 it’s has a different purpose

I’ve owned all 3 and still have the p365-380.

all around for me a much better gun. I stopped carrying my OG shield completely after getting the p365-380.

I see it’s very close, but I think the lack of thickness of the bodyguard is the selling point

Also, I checked the 365 .380 and the 9 is the same dimensions

Sure the 365 is .12 thicker. Which is why I have said FOR ME the 365 is better. The .12 is noticeable when shooting and not when carrying. Everyone is different but for me the BG was the worse option. Especially with the issues I had. S&W has been 3 misses in a row which is annoying.

Let me clarify the BG you had was the OG or the 2.0
No one really likes the OG lol

But if it’s the 2.0 what were the issues you had other then the sights being off?

BG 2.0 and 2.0 Comp. My non comp keyhold at 7 yards went back to S&W came back and the rear sight was all the way to the left side of the slide and it still had issues. The comp was just not for me, turns out I really do not like comp pistols. Which is why I skipped the p365-380Lux and just got the normal p365-380. Before that I had a M&P Shield Plus OR that was missing a pin and the disassembly lever. I'm grumpy and do not like flat triggers at all. I still have my shield 1.0 because I prefer that trigger over the new stuff S&W is doing.

Yeah the OG body guard was hot garbage. Messed around with a buddies LCP-Max and its just not as good as the BG 2.0 or p365. I like what Ruger tried to do, but its just not there. Gun doesn't feel good. It really is down to the BG 2.0 and p365 for pocket guns right now. My 21a is rimfire so not going to trust it, the 20x/30x are well oof just breaking. Beretta really ed the dog with those two series of pistols, and the 3032 is just to heavy for a .32 pillow fight pistol.

Regarding the size and "concealability" issue I'm not sure people realize how tiny this gun is and how small the difference is between them. They both fit in my palm. They both fit in my Vedder pocket holster. Lengthwise is a fingertip difference. The weight difference is only a couple of ounces.

The sights on the standard 2.0 aren't that great. Get the comp for the upgraded iron sights.

2.0 bodyguard has similar grip to the new shield X with a softer side grip.

Went to SW yesterday to get my hands on both of them. Not bad. Yes, super tiny. Flat faced trigger pretty close to the Shield Plus. Not awesome, but way better than the OG curved trigger Shield. For my eyes, definitely the front green sight on the comped version stood out better than the red one on the non-comped. I could care less about the comp. Already have a Canik Prime and this is only a 380 and only want the smallest possible for alternative summer/tank top type clothing. For me do not think the $100 extra for just the green night front sight is worth it. Might put on an aftermarket front sight once I actually start shooting the non-comp version. I have a few pistols with red fiber optic front sights and like them so I shall see.

I want that frame with my normal 380 slide. It feels really good in hand.

Yes, range use is a much different use case than a pocket carry 380. We may need a new category mini-micro for the BG, lol.

I ended up grabbing a comped one last year before they were on the roster as it popped up locally on here and I was looking to grab whichever I could find. Little brother to my M&P 2.0 compact. Nice little gun, but I may also grab the sig lux when they come out if I think I can sneak it in the safe without my wife seeing .

Important note for those considering optics for the BG 2.0, the Viridian RFX1 is auto-brightness only, which for me is a deal breaker. Battery for the Viridian is on the bottom, but they last for like 50,000 hours.

The Gideon Pebble has manually adjustable and lockable brightness and a slightly bigger window, plus the battery is side-loading.

I just installed the Pebble on my BG2.0 and I actually like it a lot. Can’t wait to run it out to the range to zero it and be done with those notoriously misaligned factory iron sights.

Also, FYI, the rear sight put up a good fight when removing it. I had to use a sight pusher and really crank the out of it to pop it loose.

Combat textiles....they make them for quite a few applications in a bunch of colors and patterns. Ranger Wrap's do the same thing and I think are basically the same product, bunch of different patterns as well.

Same experience replacing the sights. Now I have two pebbles on deck, working out my arms a bit before the attempt!

I just got my BG 2.0 shoe for the MGW Sight Pro so hopefully removing the rear sight won't be too difficult! Also, I'm assuming there's a correct direction for rear sight removal.
