Ca 3 in 30 new rule, FFL03/COE Exemption

I think a number of the readers have their FFL03/COE. With the new 3 in 30 firearm purchase limit, there is language that exempts FFL03 holders from this limitation (same as when 1 in 30 was in effect).
As a suggestion, it would be helpful to have a list of stores that honor the exemption for either a new sale or PPT. I can start as I was just informed today that Poway range (PWG) does not honor that exemption. Thoughts and feedback appreciated.

You know back in the day I would understand dealers not understanding the Law.... But its spelled out in:

The penal code
To CADOJ dealer bullitins

and even a selectable option when they run the DROS

If a dealer claims they still don't know you should call them idiots and never shop there.

It's in DES from March 23rd. They had to acknowledge they read it or can't run DROS's

PWG should be on this. They’re a major litigant in many 2A cases in this state.

Subdivision (a)(10) is the exemption.

According to J&R Sports in Livermore they used that code and it was rejected. They called DOJ and were told to use the Collector - 03 FFL - Valid COE for the 4th DROS and boyond. Apparently the system is set up to flag any transactions > 3 but does not have the exception logic built in (yet?).

Especially strange seeing as they're just shooting themselves in the foot. If I walk into a gun store and wanna buy 4 guns from them, you'd think they'd wanna make that sale. I wont shop anywhere that wont honor a simple rule that costs them literally nothing to follow.

I'm a member at that range and just did a PPT with them. That certainly doesn't sound like their approach...they are very professional and I doubt them being loose with the law.

Ive done multiple with that code and no rejection. If someone has the COE/C&R exemption and the dealer does not select it it will count toward a max 3 in 30. They have to select it. There is an FFL only channel where issues would come up if anyone runs into those types of issues. Either you miss heard or the guy explaining it didnt know what he was talking about.

They did not select the Collector 03/FFL on the 4th sale and it was rejected. When they put it through with that selection as instructed, it went through fine. I am going back myself today because my fourth sale was rejected (I forgot it was my fourth and didn't provide my paperwork). I will verify this.

I am also a VIP member and shoot their every week. They counter guys are all good people and no it's doesn't sound like their approach, but that's what they told me yesterday. It may be a management decision.
