Leaving a gun on a nightstand while you sleep or in a closet unlocked is now a violation of state law.
I have VERY strong feelings about this, to say the least.

That bill didn’t pass. It died in first committee. Please read Post 13.AB 3067 reporting requirements of insurance companies is a Huge red flag and should scare Everyone, including liberals. This one passed and signed by Newscum is Very bad for everyone including liberals.
Someone else posted about this above but the new Section 25145 added to the Penal Code says:I have VERY strong feelings about this, to say the least.
16745.
As used in Sections 25105, 25135, and 25145, “authorized user” means an individual who is not prohibited by state or federal law from possessing, receiving, owning, or purchasing a firearm and who meets either of the following requirements:
(a) The individual is the lawful owner of the firearm.
(b) The individual has been lawfully authorized by the lawful owner of the firearm to access, possess, and use the firearm.
It's even more interesting trying to figure out how someone could be found violating these stupid laws. smhJust remember, YOU don’t have to be in proximity of the firearm. The statute allows an “authorized user” to fill that role.
(I’m still working through the concept of the lawful owner lawfully authorizing the authorized individual.)
At any rate, try to not sleep alone.
I don't remember that scene lol but that was a good showReminds me of an episode of this show called The Expanse. One of characters was trying to make his way to a ship I think so he can escape back to space. He came across a guarded cabin, by a sniper. Sniper told him to undress to make sure he isn't armed. After stripping to his underoos, he yells out "unless you think I got a gun up my ass, I think we're good." Random thought, but hilarious.
