Unless you agree with arming everyone under their 'God-given right to bear arms' which will include rapists, people with mental issues, murderers, thieves, terrorists etc, you're going to be infringed upon. Simple as that. Might as well get used to it and instead of complaining, realize how lucky you are because the constitutional right to bear arms exists nowhere else in the world (apart from Mexico and Guatemala).

Yeah it’s almost like that’s why the USA is the best. Mexico is such a hole country millions of their citizens are desperate to come here, they will come illegally and risk bodily injury or death to the cartel, spend all their money to get smuggled here and face law enforcement to try and stay in the USA rather than have to live in Mexico. Not sure what argument you were trying to make… all the cartels and criminals there have guns lol.

Despite super strong anti gun laws firearms are prolific across Latin America with criminals and cartel and paramilitary groups. It’s literally the meme only law abiding citizens don’t have guns.

Though that’s changing, colombia’s new right wing president just made CCW legal. I will apply once I get my cedula and the process gets easier

I can imagine poor shooters get rejected for poor accuracy and very good shooters rejected for too good accuracy.

YES! Completion of the course should include a live fire portion in which accuracy must be demonstrated with a passing score. Although I disagree that good shooters be rejected for being "too good," the bottom line is I think gun owners should be able to hit what they are aiming at the majority of the time.

I'm going to DM Newsome in Insta over the weekend and recommend he find a way to get the law amended to include the new time requirement of 40 hours I'm suggesting.

Why stop there? Should be at least a few months of training so you’re actually proficient.

Our current education infrastructure is essentially indoctrination.. especially with California GE requirements.

I found that college was by no means a place for open thinking and asking the important social questions.

1) According to data from the CDC’s WONDER database and National Center for Health Statistics, about 450 to 550 people die per year in the United States from unintentional (accidental or negligent) firearm discharges.

2) California requires minors (ages 15½ to 17½) to complete a DMV-approved Driver Education course (at least 30 hours of classroom or online instruction) and at least 6 hours of professional behind-the-wheel driver training to qualify for a driver's license.

The FSC test right now is a joke. No hands-on training. I'm going to go tell my flight instructor I don't actually need any actual flight time. A written test will suffice, see what he says.

CCW exempts you from needing a FSC

Why are these "rapists, people with mental issues, murderers, thieves, terrorists etc" walking among us? Why are they not in prison? If someone is so dangerous that they should have their rights stripped away, why are they allowed to walk free?

And prior to 1993 you didn't even need a background check to purchase a firearm. And prior to 1963 we could order rifles in catalogs. We seemed to have survived this wild unregulated time where these violent felons had unrestricted access to arms. In fact, the founders already did the balance test for arming citizens or restricting us. They chose liberty over false safety and acknowledged that we have a natural right to defend ourselves, and that it wasn't the job of the government.
