CZ Shadow 2 On Roster?

Get the SP-01. It will get you started shooting shooter, and that's the most important part. It's not worth waiting for the S2 to hit our roster. At this point it's not uncommon for DOJ to not add a gun to the roster, even after it passes all the roster requirements. When the S2 is finally on our roster, you can always pick that up and sell your SP-01.

You can make your SP-01 very close, somethings even better, than a S2. But there are some S2 features that you won't be able to replicate. I have both a factory stock S2 and SP-01 with the CGW full production kit. (S2 was my main gun for 2.5yrs of USPSA & TTG). The CGW kit will get you a better trigger than the S2. When I compare the two, the SP-01 feels very slightly more polished; cleaner break and reset. What the S2 does that the SP-01 doesn't, lies in the S2's frame. S2 is a lot heavier in the front end. Also, it comes with a trigger guard undercut that has a very nice relief for your middle finger.

Or you can try to get a CZ 75 Tactical Sport. Which I own... best gun that I believe is still on the roster. I own a sp01 and 75TS and it's better but not a whole lot. Czs are great guns

Here’s my predicament, I really want to get my first gun so I can start going to the range with friends. I was seriously considering going and getting an Sp-01 and customizing it to make it as close as possible to the shadow 2. I feel like once it gets put on the roster I’ll get that and don’t want to have 2 similar pistols. Any recommendations on how I go about this?

I shoot an SP-01 and carry a P-01. I shot it stock with the exception of grips , sights and a spring kit until I took a class and during the drills , the instructor noted my splits were slow. He’s a GM and he could not get it to shoot faster. At the time I had 6,000 rounds through it. He said it was the hammer. The co instructor was excellent at tuning up CZ’s . He gave me a shopping list of CGW and CZC parts and did his magic. I didn’t change anything until I actually needed to change for a reason. I still suck , but now it’s not the pistol.
FWIW, a Master Class shooter I know , went from the S2 back to the SP-01 with a CZ Custom Bull barrel slide set up. The S2 grips were too fat for his hands and he shot the SP-01 frame better. I think he made it single action.

Buy the SP-01. Cajunize it with a SAO trigger and a red dot. It will be one of your favorite pistols! Guaranteed!

It is definitely still on roster, but I believe I heard CZ stopped manufacturing them a couple of years ago.

Wait for the Shadow 2. It's far and away superior to the SP01. You'll be wasting money cajunizing the SP01. The S2 is a b@d@$$motherlover. You'll still want one after you get the SP01.

If you want something to shoot while you wait for the S2 to get on the roster, go buy a Glock 34 or a P365Xmacro.

Good luck finding a TS. It' irrelevant if they are on the roster. They aren't being made anymore. CZ replaced them with the TS2. If you try to buy a TS by PPT, you'll end up spending as much as an off roster S2 or TS2. Might as well just wait for the S2 to get on the roster.

Trust me, I've had a TS, SP01, 75b full size, and 75b compact. I didn't care for any of them. I got an S2 and I love that thing, it's the only CZ pistol worth owning IMHO.

I love the Xmacro. I "built" one using an on roster 365 FCU. It seems to eat any ammo and is so accurate and easy to shoot. I like the thumb safety since it doesnt have a Glock style safe trigger. I trust it 100%. The grip is the same length as a Glock 17. It's a Glock killer for sure. But Im still not getting rid of any Glocks.

Gives time for the exise tax to drop. Not buying guns or ammo for as long as that tax is in place. Although I have my eyes on an Sig P320 X-Five Legion as well. '25 is shaping up to be an expensive year!
