DUNCAN V. BONTA GOES TO SCOTUS CONFERENCE - California Large Capacity Magazine Prohibition

That would be nice if it were truly the case, but there are far too many on this site who are in perfect agreement with our overlords in Sacramento. A firearms forum rife with the views of those who voted for Newsom and his ilk is bound to fail. Like oil and water - they are immiscible.
Ok. It’s time to put up or STFU.

i would have to agree, rife? The quote system is easy, highlight (select) then click the quote button. I think it's about time we call out the hand wavy bull💩.

We're pretty neutral as a site, by allowing people to express their positions as long as its respectful and not generalized garbage bot posts. If you have a minimum amount of your own opinion is acceptable. It's a low bar IMO.

Who did you vote for? Who is your candidate you're promoting? Why did you vote for them.

Naming names is how you get blacklisted from hopsings.

On the real side, if you voted for Newsome but dont agree with "everything he does" thats akin to the trump voters who then say "dont agree with everything he does". easy bar to trip over that you set up. I wrote in my vote for a young candidate since our states EC was obviously going to Harris anyways

Personally i don't care. My best friends of over 30+ years voted for Trump and Harris. They're still my brothers and sisters and always will be. We used to get worked up until one of us said, politicians will die before our friendships. We appreciate our difference but keep the politics to a level then have dinner then play board games and karaoke with the families and kids. We consider that a 'normal' get together. Everyone gets their vote, don't cry if you lose. Try again in a few years but the friendships and banter are more about things happening in our actual lives.

Like for this topic, I tell people I'm not happy, I pout and then built a site to engage people to see if it can make a difference, glad we had freedom week when we did and see if we can do it again.

I also think practically no one says who they vote for here, a small group just like to say it as if its true. It's the new marketing scheme, if someone says it, it must be true. Truly annoying and I'd like to see some evidence. There are a handful of people we ALL know, but as a majority most people are reasonably centrist because we don't like elements of both sides.

Very good point, most of my family voted for Trump and most of my friends just choose not to vote and we can all get together still and have good times and enjoy each others company.

I will continue to not vote for either major party and like I said wrote in my candidates name but also am active in my local communities politics going to my cities council meetings and my state senators recent townhall last month to talk about SB 50 impacting my city. People who are out in the world and not online only are very open to meeting in the middle and working stuff out together for the most part. Going to the events in person and making your voice heard does have an impact on your local and county/state level more than just complaining online. This site has been a nice to engage with people with similar interests but differing views (y)

I posted a video about young gun owners from Australia, UK, and Canada. That all happened because people were ok with the incrementalism and seemingly benign restrictions on gun rights. And no just because the majority wants one thing or the other means absolutely nothing. Pretty sure California overwhelmingly voted to keeps the gays from being legally married. I guess if the whites still hold the majority they could vote to deny the color'ds from owning property again.

There is no middle ground on the 2A because if you dont have the high ground you have no ground anywhere else.

You're either pro 2A or you're not.

And yet not one person here can answer my question.
1. How is my glock 19 OK but not my 42?
2. Why am I not allowed to have a glock 19x
3. What is the difference between my ar15 and a full auto suppressed ar15?
Not one beside the comical argument that it bothers Karens who are "scared" of guns.
My constitutional rights should never be denied over irrational fears of someone who will never even own a gun much less bother to understand them. Some of you keep validating people's arguments when they hold no logic or reason other than "feeling". STOP BEING HELD HOSTAGE BY EMOTIONS.

Awwww. This is adorable. I wish I was naive enough to believe that all elections are just free and fair and everyone’s vote matters and super pacs and special interests didn’t exist 😭
Second time in this conversation I’ve been called naive. Which party / political ideology drove citizens united? Republicans including Mitch McConnell were for it, and democrats including Obama were against it. Look at the Supreme Court vote which split on ideological lines 5-4 with all conservatives forming the majority and all liberal justices dissenting. If superpacs are to blame then the right handed California to dems. That is naive.

California had drawn its district lines for decades through a bipartisan independent redistricting commission…all the way up until Texas republicans thought it would be good politics to gerrymander the 💩 out of their state, and suddenly California voters found the will to do the same. Now democrats control literally every district in the state. That’s naive.

Trump is trying to do it again as we speak with abandoning the filibuster. If he’s successful it will be used against democrats now, and then democrats will use it against republicans in equally punishing ways. That’s naive.

Newsome literally based this most recent gun legislation on the Texas abortion legislation.

The right keeps getting slapped by its own hand. I’m suggesting trying something different since you have fewer gun rights today than you did a few years ago; and come January you will have fewer gun rights than you do today. You’re calling me naive? Figure it out.

Thats people no one actually cares about doing the right thing.
1. We the people should demand that Gerrymandering should be banned. Period full stop.
2. Who gives a 💩 about abortions. Let other states restrict those privileges if they want. Abortions are NOT A RIGHT.
(Guns are a right)
Only in California because it was recently added to our constitution. But whatever.
3. Anyone who supports Democrats should also police and demand accountability from the left. The left is increasingly becoming radical which is the main factor that is driving the right.
If the dems keep this up the right will prevail. During the election I had access to the data from polling. The trends are very clear. Most of the young men are trending to the right. Even in other countries. Its the opposite for women. The reason why we have trump is thanks to the dems, all the problems that they allowed to grow and fester. The right has aways been reactionary. So if they left keeps acting full ret*rd the right will win. The only problem is trump needs to do a half decent job (which he is not doing too well) of the economy and the right will win next elections. Its just one big circle

And the point is clear. Since my people will soon reach the majority of the population, we will have the power to decide elections, so sooner or later once we reach majority and IF those trends keep going the way they are California does have a chance to become red again. However all hinges on trumps performance and the ability for the Republican to continue winning over Hispanics

These are very simple and easy questions to answer. Why are you asking them?

1) See the CA DOJ Handguns Certified for Sale laws - they explain it all.
2) I'm guessing you can't truthfully answer "no" to at least 1 of the question on the 4473.
3) If you don't know, my explanation will not make sense.

Individuals and groups have their constitutional rights denied every single day. Mostly because they decide not to play nicely with others, sometimes "for the greater good of society". There is a process to go through to challenge that if they wish to. We have been doing that in California regarding 2A rights for as long as I can remember.

This is exhausting. We’re living in a fiercely divided country. I’m the guy saying, hey maybe there is a way to meet in the middle. The country wasn’t always like this. It doesn’t have to be this way now.

But if you want to be uncompromising, fine. Prepare to be met with an opponent who is uncompromising. Don’t be confused by it. Don’t ask stupid questions about the difference between a Glock 19 and a Glock 42. There is no difference. You can’t separate abortion and gun rights. Just because you only care about one doesn’t mean that elected representatives put in office by wide-ranging demographic groups have the same luxury. The two parties are punishing each other in an ever-escalating tit for tat because the price of not doing so is getting steamrolled entirely. That’s it.

I obviously know the difference between a 19 and a 42. I have both 😆 🤣. The point is that why Cant a regular person buy a glock 42 new at a FFL. But they are able to buy a glock 19. It makes no sense. No of this makes it any sense.

What does any of this have to do with Duncan v Bonta? I get it, some people like Trump, others don’t and all this sniping at each other will not change anyone’s minds.
This is not about trump. This is about the fact that some people here support politicians and even worse certain gun restrictions on a GUN FORUM. Its like turkeys for Thanksgiving. We cant even get gun owners in line, much less the 9th circus and the general public.

The main thing behind Duncan v Bonta is how the State of California passed a law that clearly infringes on the rights guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution.

We have been, for the last 7 pages, discussing how we got here and how to turn things around. Some people don't quite grasp the concept that with a state of 39+ million people not everyone will be happy. And more importantly, some people just don't seem to understand how a constitutional republic works and why we have one in the first place.
