So @chiroken007 said to shoot my new to me P2000 before I sent it off to have the slide milled and wow it shoots great! Bone stock out of the box it was really pleasant.

Felt like I wasn’t even trying and it made small groups at 5 and 7 yards.IMG_0530.webpIMG_0529.webp

What I’m wondering about now is are the irons off on my P2000SK or is it just me? It has a SRT and trijicon irons and I always struggle with shooting to the left with that gun out of most of my handguns. Yet this P2000 out of the box I wasn’t even looking at the sights and it’s going where I wanted it to go. The barrel is barely longer on these. More likely the sights are off or that it’s a slightly bigger gun and it’s me? Seems odd for almost identical handguns.

Regardless, if you are confident and familiar with your shooting skills and weaknesses (at least subcompact) it could very likely be the sights.

5 out of 6 times something didn’t seem right with my shooting it was the sights. Loose scope mounts, loose optic screws, loose rear sight set screw, rear sight off to the left.

Sixth was loose barrel nut on Ruger PCC takedown. ( barrel was literally wobbling after 200rds)

Yeah idk I don't want to blame the gun but it is weird I am shooting dead on with my others. Plus they're aftermarket

Everyone is unique of course. As a data point though, for me the P2000 and P2000sk are equally easy to shoot accurately out to about 15 yards, there is effectively no difference in my B8 scores at that distance. Beyond 15 yards the P2000 starts to be a little easier to get hits with and pretty sure that's the slightly longer sight radius and the larger grip.

So yeah, at 5 or 7 yards if you're seeing a difference I think it's worth drifting the rear sight a bit on the one that's hitting off. Doesn't seem likely that you'd pull shots with one and not the other, they're pretty similar pistols. More likely it's a sight adjustment issue.

Thanks! @RustVendor will get me squared away

I can usually hit the center of the target with my first shot at 10 yds, and then the group gets bigger and without paying attention can wander low and left. Where does your first shot go? Also, when you dry fire can you see the front site move? Ideally you are pulling straight back on the trigger and the sites don't move when the trigger breaks.
