Exactly, how? That's scarry.
Aside of the silhouette the paper itself is like 2 feet by 3 feet. (maybe he was shooting like me and my buddy, with no sights at all or Cowboy style..) Even with no sights and no training you'd think with a point and shoot stance you'd still hit the paper at 21 feet.
Sure glad I don't go to public or indoor ranges anymore.

Years ago got ready to go to range to shoot new reloads. Used a backpack to carry range gear out the ammo in ears etc. go up pay get my lane.
Well I start by unloading backpack in the line. Get the ammo out set it on deck. Go to get the gun I dig deeper don’t see it check all pockets. Realized I left it at home. There was 20 bucks wasted and embarrassing going back to counter and saying yeh forgot the gun.

Mine was similar… except that one visit I arrived at the range parking lot with everything in the trunk of my car ready to go… except the keys for the in-trunk lock box, which I left sitting on a shelf back home in my garage. Sooo… having plenty of 9mm ammo on hand, I decided it was time to test drive a few things in my range’s rental fleet… and that’s how I came to be the owner of a new Shield Plus…
If this had happened 9-12 months later, it would have saved me the cost of upgrading to an OR slide… or maybe I would just have gone straight to the Shield X… but no regrets, still shoots great for a micro…

Man this is what gets me. 7 yds is self defense distance. That moron can legally carry in public. So can the quick draw cowboy who almost shot his own foot. So can the guy who turned around w/ a loaded gun and hit a bystander w/ fragments.
I want to be around competent carriers. I don't want to be at the range with these people which is why I'm willing to pay more for a more exclusive range. But what about out in the open?
Genuine question: So would a basic live fire qual every 3 years be an infringement on the 2A?

I was so disappointed that I just went back home. I was lucky enough to figure it out in the parking lot so didn't lose the range fee.

Believe me, I kept a sharp eye on the guy until he left the range.
I should have told him to get some training so he wouldn’t shoot his loved ones.

Some people just can’t handle guns properly.
The most fun I ever had was in basic training on the live fire range where we would fire our M16’s as we advanced through various positions.. I was in the last group to go through. When I got to the top, the instructor told me and one other guy to gather up all the magazines and spare ammo from the rest of our company. We stuffed all of our pockets with full magazines and carried more in our hands. We were then told to shoot it all up. Full auto. It was a fun day.
I just remembered I was given the temporary rank of sargent while I was in basic. Then, later, that rank was taken from me and I asked my DI why. He told me that I’d done a fine job and he wanted another guy to take on the responsibility as a test. I was fine with that. I made Specialist 4th Class at the end of my dental training. Apparently I received the highest GPA in the history of the school.

A few years ago I headed to the range with my tikka CTR to shoot some groups. After I checked in there was a cease fire so I ran out and set my target up before I had invaded my rifle. The range goes hot so I put my case in the bench and start setting up when I see that my bolt is nowhere to be seen! I packed everything up and did the walk of shame back to the car without ever getting to punch a hole in my target.

Went to Prado today and the M1934 decided it wanted to cosplay as a hammerless. Smacked me in the face in the middle of a mag. Somehow it still worked fine lol, put several more mags through it just to see. Still ran Aguila and Speer flawlessly, light primer strike per mag on MaxxTech.

I recognized your gun before I read your post. I have a 1934 as well. My father picked it up in Italy just before he invaded the beaches of southern France with the 36th. I keep looking for him in all the documentaries but, no luck.
As a side note, I believe he became separated from his unit and hooked up with what became the lost battalion. He always said “Those guys (the 442nd) saved my ass.” He was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
All I got was a Good Conduct medal.

From my understanding the one I have was from Switzerland and they liked to use cast parts to replace things. This hammer looks pretty cast to me, so probably just a weaker part. I ordered another hammer from Numrich that looks like it'll be a nice forged one.
Thank you, I brought out the ZF5, Platypus, M1934, and Glock 19 today. The ZF5 and Platypus ran great but my Glock's RXM slide had the OEM front sight walk itself out today as well. I just took it off while there and kept shooting since it has a red dot anyways. No clue what was going on today with all my
breaking lolYour father sounds like a badass, that is awesome. This one is a 1972 model, I picked it up from Turner's earlier in the year. My Grandmother turned in all of my Grandfather/Great Grandfather's heirloom guns without telling my grandpa to Hemet PD when they were moving years back. I am glad to hear about cool heirloom guns staying in the family. My coworker's grandfather was in the Pacific Theater and picked up a defaced Type 99 on his way back after the war, he left it rotting under his bed for years before he just asked me if I wanted to buy it off him for $20. After I fixed it (every inch of it was coated in rust and the bolt was missing its end cap and firing pin/spring) I offered it back to him for $100 to cover the effort I spent fixing it and he didn't even want it. Pretty sad in my opinion, but now I have a cool Arisaka I got for pretty much nothing.

The 1934 and 1935 do not have threaded barrels. They use a slight interference fit. To remove the barrel, all you have to do is lock the slide back and lightly strike the end of the barrel and pull it back and out of the ejection port.
And they are rugged and reliable guns. I’ve never had any sort of failure. And they will reliably eat any ammo including various hollow points.
