Is the Glock market dead? Yes and no. Yes in the sense that there are much better options available now both in CA and free America. No in the sense that Glock has been around for so long that there are many users who will stick with it no matter what.

I have many Glocks. The reason why was because they are reliable, i shoot them well, they WERE cheap, and their magazines, parts, and accessories were cheap and plentiful. I like Glocks.

However, since the previous gens have been discontinued and banned in CA and the current gens are not available in CA, used prices are frankly delusional. A used gen 3 Glock will never be worth more than $400 to me. Fortunately I dont need any more Glocks. But if I didnt have one, Id happily go buy something new on the roster like the M&P2.0 metal frame, PDP, VP9, Rost Martin, or Echelon and be perfectly satisfied. Those are all better guns in multiple ways than a gen 3 Glock. Not even debatable. Anybody paying more than $600 for a gen 3 Glock is a straight up moron.

Personally, yes the Glock market is dead to me. Im not at all interested in Glocks anymore. Truth be told I was mostly interested in them before, because they were so cheap. I could get them for $300-$400 used. And I took advantage so Im good. I have plenty of them. I might even sell the extras but not at stupid prices. And I doubt anybody would even be interested when there are so many better guns on the roster now. I dont think many people are buying Glocks right now. I think there is a bit of fatigue seeing so many available in the classifieds. And people just ignore them now.

Hell, I passed on used gen 3 Glocks when they were $400 just a few years ago because I already had so many multiples of them. And couldnt justify spending anything on them especially when there were newer better guns available. So Im not even remotely interested in Glocks anymore. Maybe if a gen 6 gets on the roster Id be interested. But even then the M2.0 metal frame is so much cooler. Id rather have that. And if Sig gets the 211 on the roster im definitely getting one of those and would sell a couple Glocks to finance it.

I agree w/ your sentiment 100%. The problem is people are anchoring to what things used to cost.

You can say a Gen 3 Glock isnt worth $600, but you can also say McDonald’s isn't worth $15 and Disneyland isn't worth what they charge now $$. The market doesnt care. Everything got more expensive.

We refuse to pay $600 for a Glock but recommend guns that cost $900-1000 out the door? I mean whether we like it or not the market has changed.

A Walther PDP is around $600ish, firearms adjusted for inflation have actually got cheaper, not more expensive as you incorrectly stated. They were $600 ten years ago too. Adjusted for inflation many handguns have become cheaper as time goes on, same with optics etc.

In the year 2000, a new Glock 19 typically retailed between $400 and $500. Accounting for inflation, that equates to roughly $730 to $910 in today's dollars.
