The free market has been the best thing ever.. If someone can make money doing something better they will. Maybe they might not be inclined to make more efficient tires for mileage BUT if there is a group that wants that, they will pay and "do their part" . The movement can grow and go from there. Once mandated from the top down, nothing works "better." Free market is the best thing, it is so sad to see these young kids so misguided.. He is all about trying it and see what happens, but we have tried so many things and it never gets better. Remember when they phased out the normal light bulbs and those mercery curled ones popped up and they broke every 6 months.. I spent more money on those bulbs until FINALLY the LED bulbs came out. The LEDs were coming anyways, but the gov forcing incandescent out was also wrong

All these Democrat Social-ists wouldn’t be pushing socialism at all if they ever had any real experience with it. Despite what they think, they live comfortable lives compared to the majority of people on Earth because of what capitalism and a relatively free market system has done for them here. Socialism may sound appealing to them, but they are chasing a pipe dream. They haven’t thought about what will happen when they run out of other people’s money. The reality is that socialism has never worked, and it never will.

I might get a lot of flat tires whenever I leave California. I’m sure a lot of people will.

And CA tire shops will disappear, just another industry killed in CA.

When I was 16, the only tires I could afford when I had a blowout were used/rejects 40$ tires that lasted me well over a year, maybe two, with no issues. I imagine a lot of folks who struggle financially take advantage of this as well. I always think back at how helpful that was at the time.
I wonder how this would affect people in similar situations in the future ?

Same here. Old reject cars at times too. Now we’ve destroyed the inventory of old cars (cash for clunkers) and it hurts the entry level economy the worst by far. And I’m not gonna be surprised if the state outlaws used tires. Again, it hurts the working bottom third of our economy, but the CA gov constantly screws them over..

What was posted, and I pointed out, conflicts with what was claimed. It states that around 1/3 doesn't go to the roads, or do you deny what was actually posted???

You should correct that. Grusom admitted that it has been changed from a high speed train to a not so high speed train, they say "higher speed train" now. Originally it was supposed to be 220 mph, now it is down to 110 mph, at least in sections. The Palmdale to Burbank will be well below 100 mph. As well, the double track has been eliminated, so with a single track one train will have to wait for the other train, so at times it will be 0 mph as it waits.

But failed to ever mention anything about the hundreds of millions of dollars that the tire industry will have to spend on research and development in order to produce essentially a brand new line of tires across the board for nearly every kind of vehicle. So do we think a tire is going to be $75 anymore? That same piece of rubber is now going to cost somebody $175 bucks. These guys are great at scamming people
