Review Hot Rods & Handguns

Submit reviews using the Reviews tab and discuss it here!
There is no beverage/food requirement with the membership; not sure why people are saying that.
According to their website there is. That is why people are saying it.

Plus, the more I think about it, I’m turned off eating at a restaurant so close to an indoor range. With each bite I take, I would think that there has to be some probability that lead and gases are floating in the air and landing on my food.
This kind of talk isn't allowed outside of the "you have to have range clothes" thread. 😆

It probably isn’t a problem. Heck, I don’t complain when I shoot a revolver 3 1/2 feet away from my face at an indoor range and then suck the air out of a old rusty scuba tank sometimes multiple times a day!

That kind of talk will get you banned from here. I was booted from that thread by ikeo for recommending people wash their hands before eating and asking if anyone has even gotten blood lead tests like I have, or if they were just regurgitating internet crap. 🤔

Prepare to be banned, sir!!

I've looked up this place before and thought it was all a joke!

The thought of having a drank, cigar and shooting is a cool concept, but those prices. (n)

I forgot how it works, but I think there's a time in between dranking and shooting for obvious reasons.

It's way more than I would pay, but I like the idea and there's loads of people out there to whom that money is like 50 bucks to me. 🤷‍♂️

Your original statement made it sound like only if you are a member you can do your ppt here (and not worry about non members) which isnt the case and that was my point! Also just because you are a member and pay "fees" does not make you a safer shooter or even the fact that you can shoot.
I'm not even focused on rhe FFL portion or PPT and I was I obviously not talking about any bizarre relationship in your mind between paying fees and shooting skill. I think you're fundamentally confused about the nature of this conversation.

There is no beverage/food requirement with the membership; not sure why people are saying that. The food is actually decent too. Staff are great too. The downside is the ammo - that sucks, and it is not cheap.
I assume they're saying it because of the $50 monthly minimum for food and beverage listed on the membership page.

Hey Bowman, it appears that there was more that was said than wash your hands and not eat. You sound unhappy about being booted from that thread. Why was it an issue?

You got banned because you were trolling. Nice victim mentality tho.

Even now youre still trolling and talking about it, in multiple threads. Get a life loser
Hey bro, I like what you are saying here and I rephrased what you said in a professional way to avoid coming off as aggressive. Feel free to edit this or use it to edit your post. The Mods here might come after you too. I would prefer they come after Bowman instead of you.

"Your access to other threads were revoked for rudy and innapropiate behavior. You appear to not have taken responsibilty or acknowledge the consequences which is concerning.

Even in this thread, you're not taking it seriously and continuing your innapropiate behavior. I have observed this pattern in multiple threads. It is hoped that you are able to overcome this behavior and do other productive things worth your time than acting like this"

Never been to it, but H&H has been around for something like 5 years now. If it was all flash and no substance it would have gone out of business after 2-3 years.

This is an exclusive private club, $300 per month for the cheapest membership. But, that exclusivity comes with some great perks. No crowds, everyone has skin in the game. No waiting time to get a stall. Easy PPT or FFL access without the crowds or the risks from randoms.

The indoor range itself is super high-end, with great motorized target holders and beautifully-lit divider panels, with an aesthetic that encourages the best behavior from members and guests. The range looks immaculate, and the air seemed to be clean.

One downside is that you have to buy their ammo. Do they have premium quality 124gr Sellier and Bellot? Nope, it's 115gr Blazer. This is actually not bad ammo, but I really don't want to buy the range's ammo when they don't carry my favorite brand or any 124gr. When I was there, they had no 124gr on hand but apparently they had some that wasn't yet prepped for sale.

H&H is immaculate, exclusive, private, hot rods all over the multi-storey facility, has a few restaurants (from casual to sit-down), there's a panel of high-end 2011 guns belonging to the owner, another wall full of the owner's electric guitars, a cigar bar, conference rooms, and lots of lounge areas. I'm a guy who loves cars, I play guitar, and I shoot guns....so this place definitely checked a lot of boxes with respect to my interests.

I could totally see myself being part of this club if I lived closer and didn't mind spending $300 a month for the base package. If I lived closer, I could be tempted.

Either way, the range itself is clean, modern, the staff are super friendly and seem to outnumber the guests, and aside from having to buy their cheapo 115gr Blazer ammo I loved shooting here.

When you're not shooting, you can check in your gear (guns and all) at the counter so you're free to tour the place, eat something, lounge, etc. Obviously, shoot before drinking! Guests are free as far as I know.

Another HUGE perk, you can have a gun sent here since H&H is an FFL, and you can shoot your gun during the 10-day wait period! They will just bring you your gun as if it were a rental, because they are in possession of it. Also a good place for PPTs with high-security and no crowds.

I can very much see the appeal of this place, even if I'd much rather be able to shoot my own ammo. This place has to be experienced to be truly appreciated.

Was their ammo basic going rate or highly uncharged?

Ahahaha

This looks like a place that is not for actual gun people. No drawing from a holster? Must shoot their 💩ty factory range ammo? (I get it for rentals but for your own guns??). These are real breakers for anyone who actually shoots a lot.

“1911 club” …I’m beginning to understand who their targeted audience is.

This place reminds me of people who wear Gucci belts with the GG logo or carry LV purses with the poop brown print; purely meant as a flex to peacock for others and a clear indication you’re not an aficionado…
