If you sell a complete slide at an FFL, what is the fee and what is required?

If I posted the listing with "FFL won't transfer, meet up or ship" I'd get banned.

If I post the question, there is still no resolution to the issue.

CA Sucks!

Matt
All we would do is tell you to find another one.

The only way you'd get banned is repeated telling people to just do it in the parking lot and advocating ignoring the law. Just be reasonable about it, CA does suck so you know we have to let people know what won't get people in trouble. What you do after that is on the individual.

The law is clear about barrels needing to be transferred in-person through a FFL. This is why we have to be in compliance on a public-facing forum.

Whether people are actually in full compliance behind closed doors is another story, and I can’t speak to what other people choose to do.

My experience with transferring barrels is that everyone dislikes it. Since there’s no background check required right now, there’s literally nothing done beyond the FFL handing you your barrel and having you sign an acknowledgment you received it, with a pinky promise you won’t do bad things. Very effective crime prevention, but hey, what do I know.

Many, but not all, will charge you a fee for this, especially if they’re receiving barrels you order and have sent to them.

Oh and to add fuel to the fire: I’ve always viewed “complete slides” to mean they include barrel and recoil spring assembly

There's no requirement for signing anything or for anyone to keep a document. Not to say that won't change. It just has to happen there,

Just to add, Duncan's did say "there might be somethnig to fill out but they have never done it and not sure how to deal with it"

Again, CA sucks..

I know, that's why I made the post.

Thanks for the input

I think your best bet is to place the slide (complete, semi-complete, stripped, partial, ported, etc) in a Saab, then head to your local FFL for advice. Advice on the slide not the Saab!

Caguns always delivers!

I have tried twice now to PPT a complete slide assembly (once as a buyer and once as a seller). First time was Ammo Bros in OC and the other was Turners in Torrance...both times I was laughed at and told to take it outside.
