I watched the video. The company's rep said the gun is targeted to the home defense market. So, it's to provide a way to get quick access to a gun without being forced to leave an unlocked regular gun around. I know people who leave a number of unlocked guns strategically placed around the house. That's a pretty dangerous setup and they would benefit using these types of guns instead.
Dude you are delusional. Do you believe in Santa… that he will eventually come? You are passive. The exact type of gun owner they know they can suppress and he will patiently wait for the tide to turn… one day. They love you because you do not oppose them.

Do not buy this gun. If electronic fire control becomes the standard this country ends up like Iran and China where the government decides who is armed and when.
It's a Trojan horse but not the one we think.
Sacramento doesn't need to mandate smart guns they just need electronic fire control to become normalized.
A mechanical trigger can't be updated, monitored or regulated after the sale but an electronic one can. Biofire goes out of their way to assure there is no Bluetooth no WiFi no GPS RN but the hardware platform is already there. Today it authenticates who's holding the gun but tomorrow a regulation requires that data to be transmitted.
You don't have a sales registry through DROS you have a real-time usage registry that knows who is holding what and when. You know a prosecutor would love to discover those records. The engineering gap between a gun that authenticates and a gun that reports is just a firmware update.
Yup. Thiel's Founders Fund is backing both Biofire and Anduril and that's not a coincidence. Thiel wrote an entire book about how the only investments worth making are monopolies and how competition is for losers. He has been lecturing this for decades. Gunpowder ammunition is one of the last fully commoditized consumables in the firearms market. Anyone can make it, anyone can reload it, you can stockpile it forever and nobody collects a royalty on it.
Biofire is ver 1.0. It shoots standard 9mm but it normalizes electronic fire control in the civilian market. Luckey is on record saying Anduril is building something that makes gunpowder irrelevant. Connect the dots. Ver 5.0 is a weapon where the fire control is electronic, the propulsion is electronic and the ammunition is proprietary. At that point every trigger pull is a transaction inside a closed platform and the company that owns the ecosystem collects on every round the way HP collects on every page you print. Prosecutors are going to love this.
This isn't LEFT v RIGHT. It's a business model that supports the socioeconomic divide. You've already seen how CA makes it harder and harder to get ammo. What's the point of having a gun w/o ammo?

pepper balls are illegal for us to own and use in CA. In CA you just get the airsoft plastic BB's

What? Isn’t that just a in public thing; where you are not allowed to launch projectiles within an incorporated area.
Counter intuitive example…. we are allowed to concealed carry a taser pulse x because it doesn’t launch a projectile; it’s not a projectile since the spring is holding the two claws which need to make contact.
Within the home; it shouldn’t be a problem? I havnt found anything prohibiting possession even within the home for self defense? You are not carrying it in public?
