Any ideas when you'll get the go ahead to sell them?Exactly this. We have them in the store now, they look pretty nice!
Ok Mr. Sandviper. Save some of the good stuff for the rest of us. Unless you’re feeling philanthropic.Any ideas when you'll get the go ahead to sell them?
Wanting a similar pew for LO! Was planning on the S&W M&P 2.0 Metal HD Competitor, but then Ben Stoeger was talking me into this 2k11 thing. I started having those squirrels run around inside my head and other than the cost it would make more sense to get a 2k11. Same platform as I'm already used to shooting in competition, same mags that I've been using, same holster, same belt so on and so on.Ok Mr. Sandviper. Save some of the good stuff for the rest of us. Interesting idea on the solid insert for the SV comp. If that could actually make it LO legal, that seems like a pretty elegant solution. I'd be curious what NROI says about it.Wanting a similar pew for LO! Was planning on the S&W M&P 2.0 Metal HD Competitor, but then Ben Stoeger was talking me into this 2k11 thing. Already on "the list" at the LGS
Had this other crazy idea for LO though...
If I could have a solid insert made for my SV comp and it would fly for LO, I would rather just do that. Obviously I would think this would cost much less than buying a 2k11, but again, the Steggler has told me that I cannot go on living without a 2k11, so that's a pretty strong argument!
Seems 100% logical to me. That’s how I ended up with two Atlas pistols; one for IDPA and one for USPSA. It’d be a shame to shoot through either too fast so I’m excited these an option for a practice pistol.Wanting a similar pew for LO! Funny enough TTI makes a SOLID SV variant specifically for LO... think they would allow me to buy one of those barrels or send mine in for it to be fitted with one? NOPE. So annoying.Interesting idea on the solid insert for the SV comp. If that could actually make it LO legal, that seems like a pretty elegant solution. I'd be curious what NROI says about it.
I honestly would have considered another TTI product to go into LO, but not after their Customer Service experience. Plus I could buy the 2k11 along with like 20,000 rounds of ammo in comparison, lol. More interested in putting lots of rounds down range these days than collecting pews, so this would be more aligned with what I want to do at the moment.Seems 100% logical to me. Two Atlases and an SV, and now slummin' with a Kimber.Funny enough TTI makes a SOLID SV variant specifically for LO... think they would allow me to buy one of those barrels or send mine in for it to be fitted with one? NOPE. So annoying.
I'm taking an RO class at the end of the month, so I'll definitely be asking for interpretations!
I could go the opposite direction and have an Open type comp fitted to it as well, but that's less interesting to me at this point.

My only "2011" is the TTI SV, it was by far the coolest one at the shop, so I had to get it.Two Atlases and an SV, and now slummin' with a Kimber.I get it, especially after the TTI experience. If the choice is another high-dollar TTI or a 2K11 plus a mountain of ammo, the Kimber makes a lot of sense.
I’ll be really interested to hear how you feel it compares to the high-end stuff once you beat on it for a while.![]()
Ah, okay, you don't consider the Atlases 2011s? I always thought of them as 2011-style pistols. My only "2011" is the TTI SV, it was by far the coolest one at the shop, so I had to get it.
Definitely will be interesting to compare it to the 2k11 if I wind up snagging one. The fit & finish on the SV is 2nd to none, but that doesn't mean it performs better than any other firearm for reliability. It's about the same as my Glocks, has a hiccup now and then, not often, just often enough to be annoying.
I haven't had a single Kimber product in many years. I had two of their 1911's years ago, sold them both and kept my TRP. The quality wasn't very good for Kimber back then. It appears that they have likely stepped it up with the 2k11 line, we shall see!
Everyone else has a year on us already and there aren't very many horror stories, so that's a good sign.
I do, but I don't own any of those, that was SilverEndless. It took a LOT for me to get the SV. It would take a LOT for me to get an Atlas, let alone two. 2k11 is still kind of expensive, but in the grand scheme of the 2011 world it seems quite reasonably priced overall!Ah, okay, you don't consider the Atlases 2011s? Doh!! I mixed you up with SilverEndless on the two AtlasesI do, but I don't own any of those, that was SilverEndless. It took a LOT for me to get the SV. Do we know what the gt5s are going for roughly?Im pretty sure that James over at @DesertDepotArms has his hands on GT5s pretty soon...my GTO makes me smile every time I use it. Does that release change the math at all?
competitive to the Kimber pricing. Ill let James answer that definitively thoughDo we know what the gt5s are going for roughly?
Haha you’re a bad influence. We can be friends. You’ll need a third for dry fire of course.
You say that but I’ve seen the wall of amps in the background of your videos. You know what it’s like to be addicted. It’s only a matter of time.It would take a LOT for me to get an Atlas, let alone two.
You should take a look at the RCD Core. Handled an off roster 2K11 and it is a really nice gun, but not close to an Atlas which understandable considering the price point. The RCD Core on the other hand is. Atlas barrel, trigger, tool less guide rod and EGW ignition parts. I picked my Core on 8/3 and damn it's crazy that these are less than half the price of an Athena. The grip texture is outstanding. Still need to take it out and compare how it shoots against my Athena but extremely impressed so far with the Core.Wanting a similar pew for LO!
