Looking to get my third firearm need some suggestions for under $1000

I think the Sport III and MP5 (22LR) are the only rifles under 1k MSRP. The MP5 22LR is a fun plinker but if you want a rifle I would just stick with the Sport III or spend a bit more for a nicer rifle the first time around.

Plenty more rifles under 1k. My personal favorite is the smith and wesson mp15-22. It is an ar15 sized platform but shoots .22 and is lighter due to being fully polymer. It accepts most ar15 furniture and it a blast to shoot.

357 lever rifle and a 357 wheel gun. S&W makes nice revolvers. Henry and Marlin make great rifles. Both also shoot 38 special.

One lower cost caliber, two guns to shoot it.

I love shotguns. Some people don’t. To each their own. No one ever bought a Ruger 10/22 and didn’t like it. And if they did they’re probably a t. If you want something classier buy an old used Remington 521 JT online and start shooting some small bore matches.

EDC: You can't go wrong with a P365 or the P365 X-Macro. The serialized portion is the FCU (Fire Control Unit) so it's easy to change the grip or slide to suit your comfort and application.

A Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 is also a great choice and it's now on the CA roster.

I've also heard great things about the Walther PDP Compact but have never shot one.

The Ruger LCP Max conceals beautifully but I find it to be like holding a firecracker.

Range Practice: My favorite so far is a CZ Tactical Sport 2 (TS2) Orange. Plenty of mass, lots of barrel, single-action only, a beautiful shooter. I say this as someone who once had an Erebus. The TS2 Orange is a much better value and frankly I think it shoots better with far more comfort. I've also owned a Shadow 2 and Shadow 2 Compact (among others) and the TS2 to-date is the clear winner, though it costs more. Even the base TS2 (blue) is fantastic.

For a .22, I recommend the CA-version of the Black Mamba, custom-built from a virgin frame frame Wojtek Weaponry right here on this forum. Phenomenal gun, though it's listed as "out-of-stock" now.
