Yes, I contacted them today, and the deputy I spoke with provided more information than the last time I called. He explained that the supervisor is still reviewing the applications and is prioritizing the paper applications first, as those were submitted before the online ones. Once the paper applications are processed, the supervisor will move on to the online submissions. He also mentioned that there’s only one supervisor handling this, so patience is key. This gave me hope, and I’ll just wait patiently for my turn.Patience! Have you ever contacted them about your application?
I knew it. That’s why i’m surprised that you got a call when you submitted your application online. I’m pretty sure they’re somewhere in late March 2023 or early April 2023 applications by now. So wait patiently as you’re a little ahead of the people who submitted applications through paper, and they prioritize those people for sure.Yes, I contacted them today, and the deputy I spoke with provided more information than the last time I called. I don’t even remember that section being there, but I didn’t have to provide character references during my renewal. They don’t even do a phone interview any longer. I picked up my renewal back in October.Just submitted my CCW renewal application to LASD. It’s my first time using Permitium (initial app was on paper) so maybe I messed up, but I wasn’t prompted at any point to enter any character references. After I submitted and downloaded the application packet PDF, I read through it and noted there’s a box under Section 3 titled “Character References” and the response “NONE” populated in there.
Any other renewal applicants with LASD run into this? Did it cause issues? Is LASD not asking for character references for renewals or did I somehow miss it (and was still allowed to progress to the next steps) while going through the Permitium UI?
I pick up 1/14/25 after waiting 522 days from initial application date with LAPD.. Seems like LAPD is much faster all around.Just got the pick up call today. I wasn't aware they were making pick up calls on the weekends so I missed the first call, but the deputy called again in 15-20 minutes. It was a No Caller ID call unlike some people who received a 562 area code calls.

Congrats! When did you submit your training certificate?I just submitted mine 1/5/24 and wondering how long would my pick up call beJust got the pick up call today. You don't say lol. Congrats! I just hope the renewal isn't as dreadful as the initial process.I pick up 1/14/25 after waiting 522 days from initial application date with LAPD.. Seems like LAPD is much faster all around.
It certainly appears that LASD is intentionally slow-rolling the process. They certainly aren’t going to say anything to that effect either. We may never know, until someone assigned to that unit has the balls to expose what is going on. If at all, it might be after they have retired and are free to comment.I pick up 1/14/25 after waiting 522 days from initial application date with LAPD.. Seems like LAPD is much faster all around.
I had to go back a couple of pages to see your actual timeline. You are a new submission, correct?New update on my timeline
1/5 - submitted my training cert and shooting profeciency form
1/8 - emailed ccw unit if they received my email,
1/14 - Ccw unit replied documents received.
A few more months before pick up call?![]()
My timeline is on my signature. It's for my initial application with LASD.I had to go back a couple of pages to see your actual timeline. You are a new submission, correct?
Imagine finding yourself in a situation where having your concealed weapon on you could've saved your life or someone else's. When constitutional rights are reduced to licensed privileges, this is the exact result.
I have watched not only my father, but a number of his life-long friends grow old and die off without the ability to ever exercise their constitutional rights due to laws such as these. Every single one of these sheriffs and police chiefs going back to the incorporation and establishment of both the county and city of Los Angeles have played a major part in their willing participation in the destruction of our 2A rights. Every. Single. One. If there was a past chief of police or sheriff in Los Angeles who actually freely let their citizens carry legally in the past 150 years, please correct me. Otherwise it is proof positive that it’s Us (citizens) vs Them (government).Imagine finding yourself in a situation where having your concealed weapon on you could've saved your life or someone else's. Yes very well written, Bruen seems great but leaves the door open for things like CA SB-2 further limiting our rights.I have watched not only my father, but a number of his life-long friends grow old and die off without the ability to ever exercise their constitutional rights due to laws such as these. Sure the Bruen decision was great, but it left the door open for the continual abuse, as evidenced by what they are doing to those who dare to exercise their rights.
The citizenry however bears some of the blame though, as we elected these communist politicians into office. Elections matter, and this is more proof of such.
As I posted in another thread, the 9th Circuit just denied the appeal for an en banc ruling.Yes very well written, Bruen seems great but leaves the door open for things like CA SB-2 further limiting our rights.
