I have watched not only my father, but a number of his life-long friends grow old and die off without the ability to ever exercise their constitutional rights due to laws such as these. Every single one of these sheriffs and police chiefs going back to the incorporation and establishment of both the county and city of Los Angeles have played a major part in their willing participation in the destruction of our 2A rights. Every. Single. One. If there was a past chief of police or sheriff in Los Angeles who actually freely let their citizens carry legally in the past 150 years, please correct me. Otherwise it is proof positive that it’s Us (citizens) vs Them (government).
Sure the Bruen decision was great, but it left the door open for the continual abuse, as evidenced by what they are doing to those who dare to exercise their rights.
The citizenry however bears some of the blame though, as we elected these communist politicians into office. Elections matter, and this is more proof of such.

They either really felt that way or knew to get elected, and re-elected (or appointed), they had to play the game.

Just picked up after a 2.5 year wait .. no delays or additional paperwork needed, training completed ASAP.. applied before Bruen. Just thankful it worked out in the end.

I’m sad beyond belief that law abiding citizens are having their rights so egregiously trampled. If anyone can provide me with an example of any other constitutional right that requires government permission and a 2.5 year wait for a “mother may I please exercise my constitutional right” permission slip, please enlighten me. Meanwhile, the State and LA County (and others) continue to fight like hell against a lawsuit challenging this infringement. Using attorneys paid for with OUR dollars.

I applaud your patience and dedication. I’m on the slow road to getting my rights restored as well.

I think abortion should be 100% legal but require the exact same process as receiving a CCW from LASD.

100 days, to be exact—lol. According to the letter from the Sheriff, my application was approved on December 3rd, but it seems the delay in the process is due to only one deputy handling the pickups.

FML. I just decided to update my signature. I looked in my call log for the dates they called me and realized I missed their call back in November. Set me back almost a month. Seems like they didn't leave a voicemail.

They won’t call you for PTT. They will email you the guide/requirements about the training. How did you confirm it’s them that called you from those months of track backing? Lol it might be a spam call?

I saved the number after the first call that I answered. Today I searched the call history and the first one was a missed call from November. After submitting my documents I received the email telling me the PTT would be through email in 2-4 months.

Weird, cause they will only call you for the interview, if there is anything else needed they will contact you through email. The next call would for setting up a date for picking up the card, but that’s after submitting your training certificate, and your PTT would be an email.

I believe they called me for the interview but I had to clear something up first and when I did they called me back and did the interview. I should be back on track right behind you now.

The only thing I notice now is my live Scan firearm background has been taking forever. CA and FBI are complete but firearms isn't. Do you know how long yours took to complete? If anyone else cares to share how long it took, I wouldn't mind knowing.

LOL! I did copy, paste, and edit your signature. I also hit the character limit. I did my livescan on 12/28/24 and the firearms portion isn't complete yet. I found horror stories on Reddit of it taking six months.

They won’t give you a go signal for PTT without you clearing background. Contact the sheriff you are working with the requirements about the live scan.

Picked up my renewal back in October. Took the whole 90 days. My permit did lapse a few days, but I got the call to schedule pick up before it expired.
