... Maybe shaming IS better??

The amount of people that do those compared to total gun owners must be a fraction of a percent. It's like how many motorcyclists do a trackday at Laguna Seca vs the entire population, less than 1%?
Also, steel challenge is like 125 rounds per event. Maybe 150 with makeups. That's a šŸ’©ton of steel challenge days to get to 15k :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, I wanna see old ads that aren't moving put at the bottom of the ones I see in any given day. Like overpriced listings that have been up for too long shouldn't be overly visible. In fact, the older your ad, regardless of the tier of your account, should be out at the back of the line.

Use the filters..

Oops I guess we shouldn't call out the people with ads lol. I said that ad went up when I got married and it'll still be up whenever I have my first kid lmao.

He is also selling a gen3 Glock26 for $2500. lol!

In 2 years we’ve gone from 1500 to 46k+ users and a lot of tx’s between members. I’m not sure why you’d say it’s not working. Many friendships made as well

The filters are the driving force and things get picked up very fast. Some users log in every day multiple times a day scanning for new listings.

If you’re casual then it might look like there’s nothing but there’s a lot of activity and growing. Some of the older listings beyond one year will gradually be removed. There was a bug where some would stick around but it’s limited.
I feel like you misunderstood my main point, I think this site is great and you have done a great job. I'm not trying to talk šŸ’© on the site at all. I do think there are way too many ads not moving and it makes it a bit tedious to browse. I have found some odd behavior with the search function so I don't really use it, it excludes ads that are very blatantly using the correct keywords. I do think having dialog on the ads would help but as I said in my initial post, that's just my šŸ’©ty opinion ;)

Greed / avarice. They are obsessed with money. That’s all it is nothing crazy complex. Some just aren’t very smart and don’t understand how markets work so they’re left holding the bag and losing money daily to inflation on the item. Let them lol
True, but on the opposite side you get buyers wanting something for nothing offering 1/3 your listed price when you’re already well below what you paid for an item.

Point taken, it’s just perspective. Theres always room to improve and it’s genuinely appreciated.

Theres some work that needs to be cleaned up there for sure along with the search.

Best case scenario is free accounts rotate ads every 90 days and have an option to renew. Supporters are at 120 but might bump higher and can also renew. Relisting is manual so the user should log in, there is a bug here where some listings aren’t expiring, that one is fixed but there’s some remnants.

bottom line, if the user is returning they should have the ability to renew at their šŸ’©ty prices but you can put them on your ignore list too so they shouldn’t show.

My point was there’s lots of deals but they go extremely fast. I’ve been experimenting with keyword notifications but want to fix existing problems first before rolling out. Prime members will get early access while we work things out and roll out to other tiers when the feature is ready. Keyword notifications won’t be available on free accounts because it’s a bit noisy and processing and emails cost a bit which is what’s currently testing.

Overall search and ad rotation is on my queue to improve. It isn’t going to be perfect but we’ll try to make improvements. We have some limitations I have to work with.

There's great deals and good stuff on here that's why I keep looking! I actually have a lot more transactions on here than my feedback number implies, I've used the marketplace here a lot. I'm actually curious what the statistics are for unsold ads, the good stuff gets sold and disappears quickly so there is survivorship bias that emphasizes the ads that you see over and over but I am curious what the numbers are. Like how many are sold in one month vs more than one month may be the best metric.

I have that on the backend but we don’t release that info and it’s purely volunteered information based on feedback and sold listings. The analytics nerd in me like to see trends which is why we make these incremental adjustments over time. This is relatively new since the existing setup didn’t allow for it. I had to build a custom dashboard and it still doesn’t have everything.

None of the info is sold and if anything I only use the info to serve the community better by tailoring to usage. For instance next on my list is better categorization for keywords and search.

I left it as keywords but it’ll be easier to do dropdown vs text based. It was convenient early on but as the site grows it’s a limitation due to the various ways people input information so data normalization is on the list. The ad rotation is a part of that so ads get updated to the new format once we get there, similar to how we had to push people to the barrels with acknowledgement requirement.

What gets my goat most of all is when you say OBO and you have no takers. I have always said it never hurts to ask and all the seller can say is no (that is without offering a ridiculously low unreasonable price.)

ikeo1 Here was my diamond.

Hell there was a CanikSFX Rival S with extras, with a price of $800 and I jumped on it. While somewhere between 14 & 16 watchers were probably saying the next day where did it go?

It might just be old boomers with not much going on for them. There’s a guy in sac that’s been trying to sell a .22lr pistol for over a year and he’s asking MSRP, MORE than what a new one sells for! $299.99

I said if you want to actually sell it instead of waiting a year I’ll take it for $225 since another guy offered $200. He said he’s firm on price and now wants $500 for said gun. He will probably never sell it and just seethe. It is what it is. That’s still the free market. They can sit on it and lose money to inflation and you can buy it somewhere else. I could just go get one at a store.

If the DOJ roster lawsuit actually works out there will be some very broken hearts
No lowballng, he knows what he has.
