Out of curiosity what makes the M9A1 frame and brigadier slide combo good?

light rail, texture, and replaceable sights.

m9/92/m9a1 you you have a fixed front sight. brigs have a dove tailed front sight.

outside of retarded roster land it’s not a big deal, but here in CA your best “modern” features 92 family pistol is the m9a1 frame and a brigadier slide. Plus you end up with a perfectly serviceable 92 style pistol and the fankinbeast.

Those wraparounds would be awesome if I had bigger hands. When the budget permits it I will have a shop checker the back strap.

The LOK wraparounds have a bunch of different thicknesses. This specific set are as thin as the standard lok thin grips, but add the "gi" bump on the backstrap that the Vertec doesn't come with.

This is a great video of the rise and fall of the 92FS. He talks about how Glock started going after Beretta in every way they could i.e. giving Hollywood prop studios free Glocks to use in movies and going all in on convincing LE to switch over, and eventually SIG getting payback on Beretta in the 2015 pistol trials for what Beretta did to them in the 1985 trials ($176 per 92F vs $400 per P226).

Going after Hollywood was such a smart move, attempting to beat Beretta at their own game. By 1998 Hollywood and Glock were attempting to convince the audience that a plastic 9mm was a more manly gun than a full metal aluminum/stainless steel 45acp, in fact calling it a "nickel plated sissy pistol" (Taurus PT945, in this case). Absolutely genius marketing.

It’s kind of terrifying when one realizes just how much power TV and movies have on public opinion. My wife loves watching the latest shows etc. I listen for how many social cues they are trying to push and ask why.

That's actually kind of sad, did they think it was actually like that in the military? So much of our military popular media is about the "guy who breaks the rules but is hailed as a hero anyway". I would think they would be very disappointed if they actually enlisted on that premise.

Well crap now I want an M9A1 and Brig to compliment my regular 92 (which I love, flaws and all). I bought the 92fs for the looks and nostalgia but damn does the front site and lack of rail suck.

I saw the Staccatos but the show was so bad I couldn't continue lol

Do it. You can make an insane pistol with those two and ltt and still have a great backup pistol.

Did you find trouble finding front sites? Some research is saying the front dovetail site on the Brig is a different shape/size than on the A1/2/3/4 so there's fewer options for Brig sites.

I just put a red fiber sight up from so it’s not hard to find. if you’re looking for something else I have no idea.

There are companies that will drill 92FS white dot sight for fiber rod. I think Jarvis does it
