I don’t know a lot of reliable brands aside from Glock, Sig and Springfield so I want advice. Others have more experience with various guns so I am getting recommendations.

Yes if I decide I want to sell it does help if it’s a sought after gun. I have made mistakes in the past and now own guns I basically can’t sell because of bad information.

if you are looking at the resale market....basically anything that is off roster will sell quickly as long as it's reasonably priced. ie your cost and a couple hundred or so. if it's brand new not used. stick with things that are a bit more exclusive since you stated 2-3k.
ie you could get a sig 211 gto which I think stickers for 2300 or so out of state. if you asked for 3-3200 I bet it would sell quickly. the only ones Ive seen so far aren't moving cause people are asking 4k+.

as noted, the more expensive staccs aren't really moving now that the HDs have come out. and you are seeing pricing on like C2s drop below 3k on the secondary market and STILL not moving.

CZs are a good option. not overly expensive lots of fans.

a gun you could resell VERY easily and isnt very expensive, the HK cc9. lots of HK fanboys (me included) and it's not on the roster and a big appetite for this class of gun out there.
 
I know I am definitely not investing in more Glocks except maybe a Gen 6. Glock just isn’t keeping up with demands. Not enough new features like competitors are doing. They are work horses and never fail, but I have had similar reliability with other manufacturers.
 
Shadow 2 still sells pretty quick around here, I wouldn't mind one. I just don't like the idea of paying scalpers so I'd rather not have it then give them the satisfaction lol.

Kinda depends on what you are looking for. Range toy? Competition? CCW? Home Defense?

Yes, that’s how you get honest opinions. Probably going with Staccato since they offer Law Endorsement free replacement if you’re involved in a shooting. Kimber, Bul Armory, etc. don’t.

Definitely want a 2011 style

Yeah for sure I sold my CS before the HD line was on the roster and it legit sold in an hour. Now I see them sitting for weeks.
