Hello there! I am from SoCal; love old firearms. Originally Milsurp, though I think ive collected everything ive wanted. Gotten into the old west guns, and have been building that up recently. Still have yet to buy a 9mm lol.

I was a very active member on Calguns.net and had over 100 positive itrader reviews on that site. Not sure how rapport is built in this site and how to know which members are legit? Found this site on Reddit and miss having a place where I can buy, sell, and trade.

Enjoy shooting the AR platform and an a CZ and Sig fanatic. Have done some AR steel challenges, some USPSA competitions, and am a current CCW holder.

Excited to meet some good people on here.
 
New here. I was long time user on Calguns under the same handle, great place unfortunately seems to have met its demise due to tech issues.

SF East Bay Area. Member of Diablo rod and gun. Compete in steel challenge and just starting IDPA. Also going to dip my toe in NRL shooting. Also have some air rifles, got a nice PCP gun. Pretty much shoot everything, hunt once in a while when I get free time.

Also Cub scout den leader. Little league assistant coach. My kid is just starting to shoot and having a blast.

Newer to shooting and about to buy my first gun.
I came from the CA guns reddit .
I live in Santa Cruz so I don't have a range close but I'm planning to check out Reed's next week and test out some handguns.
I'm all for any advice for my first gun, I have my eyes on a Glock 34 but I'll see how I feel after trying several.
 
My CCW brought me back to firearms. Pistolpete75 from calguns and snipershide. It's been 20 years but I'm back. Ex hobbyist and competitive shooter in the precision rifle game. Now, I'm just here for fun. I shoot pistols, bolt actions, and shotguns.

I'm involved in social and competive tennis and I'm from Santa Clarita.

I don't take shooting seriously anymore but it's something to do on occasions.

Welcome, and you're doing the right thing by trying before buying.

The G34 is a sweet shooter with its longer slide/barrel. That can make it harder to conceal (if CCW is a goal) but for home defense or just general range duty it's great.

The wonderful thing about Glocks is they can be customized to infinity if that's your thing or just be left stock and will run forever.

I went through a few pieces and currently settled with P2000SK DA/SA 9mm (my first gun so it will stay forever), Glock 26.3, and Dan Wesson PM7 with ambi-safety added (I'm left-handed). Hoping to add a CZ and a Python in near future. Also into watches and motorcycles.

Currently in the process of getting the initial CCW permit with SFPD. Online application submitted on March 18, livescan, background checks done, and just finished character reference calls yesterday. Next up should be a psych-evaluation to conclude the phase 1, then I can take the training course.

Looking forward to gaining more knowledge through the forums.

Self-reply on the CCW process with SFPD. Per their process breakdown (https://sanfranciscopd.permitium.com/ccw/start), the psych evaluation is a part of phase 2, coupled with the training. So I'm supposed to be at the last stage of Phase 1 ("Initial Determination"). PSA just in case anyone searches for the SFPD CCW process in the future...
 
Hello,

A new member from Chino Hills area.

Recently got all my paperwork in order and finally are hopefully allowed to own a gun and wanted to get into shooting and into my first gun(Top 3 choices is currently the upcoming PDP, Shadow system mr920 and or Ruger Mark 4). Second would be into a bolt action rifle for long range shooting.

Somehow ended up here to try to learn more about what info is out there. Knowledge, shooting groups, marketplace, off roaster and everything and in between.

i looked it up on reddit and they haven't accepted a new member since august 24 there's an error code every time you try making an account.... Caguns definitely feels and functions better, but they have some many members and more classified posts there's a really good deal on a hellcat local to me but i can't find a way to contact him
 
Hi glad I found a local.on linenprivate party gun trade i.e. sell sight looking forward to seeing all the deals and hopefully making some of my owen
