I bought an MP5 years ago off an 07 FFL that moved here from Ohio with a boatload of spicy off-rosters, and one of his dealer buddies back east owns a pre-sample M240 that he paid several hundreds of thousands of dollars for, and showed me some videos of him shooting. Pretty awesome.

I'm just a simple man though and would be happy with the SLR semi-auto from Ohio Ordnance Works. Still a cool $15-20K, but attainable.

It's all about the duality of men. One must be jekyll and hyde, I get it... so of you are men of "important" business or want to come across as "sophisticated' and such. Blah blah blah. I am also "highly educated at a prestigious university" and have worked for the number #1 most competitive company in my field, which is very prominent and affluent. Anyhow the way I see this is like we are out there having fun with the guys shooting the . Just men being men. But I guess this is a tall order for some of you. I screwed up, acted like a jerk, and as a result everyone else was affected. My pappy taught me that a man owns his mistakes and makes amends.

Even being on the wrong side of 40, I need to learn to control myself a little better, because sometimes I act like an a*shole around people who didn't cause my frustration.

It’s about experience. In another post in a different thread, I also mentioned I’ve had friends get shot, one was executed when I was in my 20’s, he was one of my close friends from college. We took different paths in life and it affects my perspective. I saw what some people in that lifestyle would consider men and also what power people can hold with a pen and their words. Power comes in different forms. There’s a reason there’s a saying the pen is mightier than the sword.

As you gain more experience in life, you’ll notice the differences as you climb. All that to say, I’m not from that life, I wanted out of the other one and tech got me out of it. It helped me to redefine my perspectives.

I didn’t get into this for fun, though it is more fun now, I had robberies by my home during Covid. Fear is a helluva motivator. I’m not exactly small and trained Muay Thai but that doesn’t really matter against a gun.

The philosophy I follow is it’s better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war. And also people who have strength lift people up vs push people down.

Some of you grew up with guns. I didn’t. I had some exposure in 2012/13, and nothing til 2020. We all have different backgrounds and motivations of what brought us here and what we’re accustomed to. Some of us feared guns early on but now shoot for sport, which is why I try to focus on education and classes.

Playing "devils advocate" here. Why is it important for people to be able to curse in online forums? I dont see an issue expressing viewpoints without cursing. Also dont see how being free to curse has anything to do with gun culture or masculinity. This discussion seems like a tactic to test/push the boundaries in this forum and turn it into the unhospitable drama-laden atmosphere of the dying calguns.

Some of the people here are the "good ol' boys" of calguns. The protected class., they could get bans, but never a perma ban. While others that does a fraction of what they do gets perma bans.

Why do you assume I’m a “good ‘ol boy” from CG OT? Or from Reddit? And how is anything I’ve said “extreme”? I explained my point of view calmly and politely, and a great compromise was reached that accommodates everyone’s personal preference. If you don’t want to read cursing, keep your filter on, otherwise turn it off. Everyone is happy, or should be... So what’s the problem?
