That’s crazy talkAnyone that understands firearms understands usage, never have a chambered round unless one is ready to fire.
Simple rule.
In context, if I have to draw my gun, I have to be ready to fire.Anyone that understands firearms understands usage, never have a chambered round unless one is ready to fire.

Idk about back then but current doctrine is to keep a round chambered, firearm on safe, bolt forward in any hostile fire zone. Walking around base or in safer areas yeah chamber empty. Lol sometimes they don't even have a magazineRacking a round takes about one second, both F&G along with the DOD protocol (Army) said never to have a round in the chamber unless one is is in a active engagement.
And CCW is for civilians. Military protocol doesn't applyRacking a round takes about one second, both F&G along with the DOD protocol (Army) said never to have a round in the chamber unless one is is in a active engagement.
So why carry at all?
How often do you train for incidents like Cerritos?
Honestly for anyone using the argument of "i'm not training for a active shooter/terror attack" or "i don't have time/money to train" or "im not a gun nut", just carry a Ruger LCR in 9mm.Are you trying to pick up a fight or something? I think my original post was very clear. It is (at least for me) is all about balance of everyday inconvenience vs. possible reward.
I read statistics, weighted my options and level of training I am willing to support and decided that I will carry a gun. And will not carry spare magazine. It is my decision for me. I am not advocating it for you. Your situation can be different. All I am saying is that people should perform similar analysis for themselves. And only then decide what is right for them.
That includes possible Israeli carry. Even thought is sounds like it requires more training. But I did really looked at that very closely.

No recoil, easy ammo availability, won't F- up your hands/wrist if you got carpal tunnel, super light weight and you can throw it in a pocket holster for easy carry day to day. And it's on the roster.
My bad, i think i fat fingered which post i was responding too.Ok. I do have Kahr PM9 on the license..... but I carry a larger gun because I find it much easier to shoot and not much more difficult to carry. And while your most of your post not applicable to me personally I do not disagree with the statement. I just don't see logical connection with the subject under discussion.
My bad! I actually meant to post something else about training and forgot to delete my initial response. Are you trying to pick up a fight or something? I think my original post was very clear. It is (at least for me) is all about balance of everyday inconvenience vs. possible reward..
No problem.....My bad! I actually meant to post something else about training and forgot to delete my initial response.
I remember 90’s in Kuwait an Army Abram’s pulled up along side are FOB to shoot theRacking a round takes about one second, both F&G along with the DOD protocol (Army) said never to have a round in the chamber unless one is is in an active engagement.
This. It’s a completely different world. And the military is ultimately ran by politicians not just what’s the most effectiveAnd CCW is for civilians. Military protocol doesn't apply
Exactly. Same point I always make about people who say "if 5.56 is good for military it must be good for me and you". It may be good for me and you, but not because it is good for military.This. It’s a completely different world. And the military is ultimately ran by politicians not just what’s the most effective
This response really should have been with the inside voice.Racking a round takes about one second, both F&G along with the DOD protocol (Army) said never to have a round in the chamber unless one is is in a active engagement.
