Oregon proposal to outlaw hunting, fishing and other animal activities misses first ballot hurdle. So stupid!!

where were the animal rights groups that tried to sneak in anti hunting language into the farm bill from? probably portland amirite
I had to look it up because I hadn't heard of that but interestingly it was the congressman from Santa Barbara, ironically not too many blue-hairs there.

Man, in the 90's Oregon was the place to be, WTH happened?
California happened….

Californians have been migrating north to Oregon for years, and the last four years have been no different. Whether they are leaving California to escape wildfires, earthquakes, or higher prices, they continually move to Portland, Oregon

In California the median home price in 2024 was around $869,500, and it is predicted to average $909,400 for 2025. Compare that with Portland’s median home price coming in around $575,000 and add the relative job security provided by major companies like Intel, Nike, Adidas, and Columbia Sportswear, not to mention nearby Boeing, Tektronix, and The Standard Insurance Company, it stands to reason why so many are fleeing The Golden State and heading north.

Seems like the consensus is California is a disease spreading state by state.

portland happened, just like seattle F-ed up WA.
And California.

We need to look at the bigger picture here. This isn’t just a proposal to just eliminate hunting and fishing, this is the beginning of a huge gun grab. “If you can’t hunt, why do we need to sell guns or ammo in the state?” And if this passes, it will come to a blue state near you!

What's funny about your bizarre reaction here to this wildly unpopular bill that even vegans have come out against, is that the guy who started it all could never imagine the reach he would get by you talking about it. He's literally said he doesn't think it will pass but wanted to do it to get these topics in the headlines. You are doing his work for him

Even in Portland this bill wouldn't pass, vegans make up less than 1 % of the population and this bill affects farming along with hunting and fishing. Portland is all about meat and the outdoors.
I’m gonna break this down for you because you seem to be a little on the slower side.

When I say “Portland happened “ that means liberals happened. This proposal was born in the heart of your “vegan” paradise that you seem to cherish and want to defend. And once again, you are bringing forward “feelings” instead of actual facts. And no, hanging out with “homosexuals and blue haired individuals” ( your words) does not dictate the entirety of the voting population of Portland, Oregon. Once again, you really should try thinking for yourself. It’ll do wonders for your self-respect. And quite honestly, I’m wasting my time discussing this with you. However, I feel that you won’t let this go. Somehow, it won’t sink into your mind that the “vegans” of Portland Oregon have nothing to do with this

liberals like john locke? and the population of portland mostly didnt sign on to this, not even 25% of the city (if only signatures came from portland not elsewhere in the state). looks like its mostly non libs in portland then by your ideas

I never made the argument that the 2 percent of Portland that are vegan didn't sign onto this, I said even in Portland this isn't popular. Portland metro area has 2.5 million people and they couldn't get 100k signatures because even among liberals, forcing veganism on people isn't popular. Almost all liberals eat meat.

We can argue all day about who you think signed on for this, but you’re not bringing forth any statistics. You’re not bringing forth any facts. So far I’ve proven where this proposal was born, the campaign, headquarters location, an electoral map showing the voting trends of that state, and most importantly dictating, where all of the signatures were generated to support this proposal. Common sense tells us that Portland, Oregon politically dictates what happens in that state. Think otherwise, is pure ignorance.

Here's a statistic: they couldn't get enough signatures to get on the ballot

pointing out that a city of 2million cant get the require signature amount to be on the ballot isnt a statistic to you i guess. two people have done it in this thread.

Did you bother to read the article? It doesn’t look like it. They did collect the signatures. It’s what they couldn’t verify as what’s holding it up.

Yeah that means they were bogus and don't count

Opponents, including a growing list of Republican and Democratic state politicians (oh look dems opposing it from your article) it says they didnt meet the requirement for signatures like we said too
