Im looking to get this down to 45 oz or less. Currently sitting at about 45.7 with a standard 10rd mag, not freedoms.

Ive shaved a lil already with the Greyguns Maxwell and Lok Grips. I could probably remove another 0.25 oz by removing the steel rear sight as it doesnt co witness anyways. Im also aware the Sig Romeo1Pro would probably get me where I want to be but I really like the big screen TV I have on there now.

Does anyone know of any lighter parts in the works? Any other ideas?

Very good question. Gonna follow this thread cause I got a couple shooting buddies interested in this platform with the same competition weight requirements.

I assume this is for IDPA? how much does the optic plate weigh? could save weight with a defender xl which would direct mount. What is the grip safety made out of? Even if it's aluminum I wonder it it's compatable with the miller beavertail, it's super tiny and aluminum and it also deletes the grip safety which is nice. It feels excessive to have a third safety LOL

Yes sir. The plate is 0.72. The Defender is a tad heavier than the Holosun so net savings would be about 1/2 oz putting me super close. Removing the rear sight with this combo would get me there. This would be my 2nd choice.

Stock beaver is steel. The Miller may be the answer. I look into it and see if it's been put on a P211 yet. This would be my first choice.

I just weighed my Miller beavertail and it's .3 oz so it may be all you need.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a couple oz's it looks huge
Ok weighed it. It's pretty hogged out on the back but still comes in at a hefty 1.29 oz. Going to a Miller should shave roughly an oz.

For the record, that ambi safety was a PITA to get out for the first time.

that should be just because it's new hopefully, with the right technique it should pop right off just don't forget about that detent that launches across the room if you don't block it. That's another thing you could switch out if you don't care about ambi, you can run a one sided safety. Probably isn't much though.

So I did check it out a bit but didnt really tear into the frame that deep. It's a nice chunk of steel. I wish I had a non CA model to see that area side by side.
Yeah. There will likely be a video out before I get one or I'll just ask a friend when they get theirs to let me figure it out. will probably just look at one of these disassembly videos and try to pay close attention to what looks out of place. Or may the small parts diagram on the Sig website shows it 🤔
