PCC Options

lol not young, wasn’t sure if Deloen had infected this website. Was wondering if you were going to start referencing 30 caliber clips and shoulder things that go up.
My favorite PCC is a carbine action, 200-shot, range model, with a compass in the stock and this thing which tells time...

How did you deal with the fin grip?
I started with featureless AR and the finned Keltec P2000 so I'm used to shooting that way
The FPC was actually pretty comfortable for me compared to the fin on the P2000. Just kind of palm the fin and there's a nub (I'm sure there's a better word) behind the ejection port that my thumb rested on pretty naturally
It's obviously not as good as a normal grip, but really didn't bother me at all

DO NOT buy a Watchtower AR9. I bought mine about three years ago. Supposed to come with a "lifetime" warranty, they do not. At about 2k rounds, the barrel was super jacked up. Found out it was a $30 dollar barrel and they said they no longer make that version and no longer warranty anything on it. So I fixed all the goofy stuff myself (put a FTM barrel on it), it is a nice shooter now. But I was very disappointed with my treatment. I was trying to support their startup after they purchased F1. Did not work out well. I cannot imagine what guys are doing that have purchased the 2011 stuff they have at big$$.

No love for the M&P FPC? I was tempted to buy one I saw on consignment but when I came up with the money it was sold. I'm in the middle of building a AR9 since I enjoy the adult lego process so much but if I wasn't I'd probably buy the FPC.

Half the fun is building it

I impulse bought a VZ61 parts kit so I am building one of those at the moment. Got the barrel headspaced just need to install the cross pin then the upper is done. I have a TA61 lower on backorder that will get the job done for now without being $600+ after taxes and SSE feesIMG_3897.webp

The FPC has been great for me. Really awesome if you have the mags already
The homesteader also has a magwell that takes both M&P and P320 mags
@MrWilly I have the FPC 10mm, and it's been fun. I have plenty of M&P 2.0 10mm mags so it made sense for me. I don't like the fin, but if you plan to move out of state in the future, you can just change it for a normal backstrap after you leave CA.

The SLR RIfleworks magwell works on the 10mm FPC.

HK MP5/SP5 will forever be shweeeeeeet. Auto Ordinance M1 Thompson if you are a red blooded American. Springfield Armory Kuna, Sig MPX, Ruger PCC, and CZ Scorpion are all solid. Also a bunch of WWII SMGs but then you'd have to hunt for ammo (maybe FN P90 and 5.7 fall under this category for you).

But guys, no love for the Kriss Vector? Everyone I've spoken to who have shot it had nothing but glowing recommendations about it. One gunsmith said all the calibers kind of produce the same amount of recoil because of Kriss's recoil system... but he could have been a salesman at that moment too.

The Ruger PCC is excellent for the price, assuming that doesn't ramp up too much since being "paused". The takedown feature is cool though I keep mine assembled. I have the Magpul stock which is top notch and the comb risers are handy for some optics. The only negative is the weight, and because of the heavy bolt it's not as soft shooting as you would imagine for something that heavy. But it's a 9mm so who cares, a little recoil reminds you you're alive.

I bought mine right after I told myself I would stop buying cheap guns. It was just too cool to pass up.
Where i see the take down as a positive feature is for when you are traveling via car and want something that can fit in your suitcase. For me, it is a side by side shotgun. Breaks down small so easy to get in and out of the hotel room in my luggage. Yes, only two rounds BUT i can then transition to the CCW pistol if still needed.

When i was in Cody WY on my 50th, there was a billboard that said “do you want to fire a gattling gun?” The answer was a yes. I also shot in same store the Chicago typewriter with the 100 round drum. I did not like the M1 Thomson. For .45 ACP there was a lot of recoil. I was really surprised by this. Had a long talk with my brother who has “shot the wall” at a place in Vegas. He found the same for the Thomson. He really liked the MP5 though. Still on my list to shoot. Next Vegas trip I plan to shoot the wall of full autos. I’m sure these days that will run me over $600 but much more fun that gambling.

Heck yeah! Nice 50th, congrats!

Thompson and the .45 are known to have surprising recoil for a pistol cartridge. If I'm not mistaken I believe the rate of fire is key to the felt recoil for a .45 SMG. At a certain rate the forces somewhat counteract. It's fun and for science. Win win

Shooting the Kriss Vector is like getting punched in the face because of how the recoil goes through the stock lol
