If you already have an AR lower you can slap on a complete blowback upper and run adapter mags with a built in extractor, I've had luck with my build being a PSA gen 4 upper running Exomags w/ built in extractor. About $500 for the upper and mags but I'm able to use my lower that I'm already accustomed to. Might be cheaper and lighter to piece a Foxtrot Mike 9 during sales but i just wanted a complete functioning upper to start shooting with.

Thompson and the .45 are known to have surprising recoil for a pistol cartridge. If I'm not mistaken I believe the rate of fire is key to the felt recoil for a .45 SMG. At a certain rate the forces somewhat counteract. It's fun and for science. Win win

Drop stock, bull “blish” recoil system does not lock the action so it’s a straight blow back 45 with horrible ergo’s and weight in all the wrong area making it worse. It’s really really when you shoot it back to back against a grease gun.

How does one “mag lock” a braced pistol? I know I had to sell my ruger charger before moving here because it was unable to be made CA legal.

Completely different, but the Ruger PCC with the Ruger magwell will take your Echelon mags too

HK MP5/SP5 will forever be shweeeeeeet. Auto Ordinance M1 Thompson if you are a red blooded American. Springfield Armory Kuna, Sig MPX, Ruger PCC, and CZ Scorpion are all solid. Also a bunch of WWII SMGs but then you'd have to hunt for ammo (maybe FN P90 and 5.7 fall under this category for you).

But guys, no love for the Kriss Vector? Everyone I've spoken to who have shot it had nothing but glowing recommendations about it. One gunsmith said all the calibers kind of produce the same amount of recoil because of Kriss's recoil system... but he could have been a salesman at that moment too.

Because Vectors suck ass. Save your money.

I remember I wanted one so I went to check it out. The fin grip was actually molded in to the grip. I hated that.

I spoke to a friend that lives in Vegas and he told me to just buy one from a free state like Nevada and they will "add" the fin grip like the Kydex featureless grip. Problem solved and removable if you ever left California.
