I have an off roster handgun that has already been registered to me in CA, would this be eligible to do a ppt or would I be required to run it through an FFL?

Yes is correct. PPT still needs to be done via FFL unless it’s direct relative such as father-son-grandfather etc.

Would this be a sitiuation where the buyer and myself arrive at the FFL for just paper work or is there anything special that needs to be done due to the off roster nature of the gun?

Just go in like normal

Most FFL’s are ok with that. You can’t sell with magazine over 10rds.

Don’t go to Turner or Sportman. The corporate shops won’t deal with off roster.

There is 47.19 fee. Some shops charge extra but they aren’t supposed to.

10 day hold for the buyer as well as proper documentation. FSC card, CA ID and proof of residency for buyer.

As seller you just need ID.

Turner's does off-roster all the time... eventually. Their paperwork process is about the slowest known to mankind at many locations.

Maybe depends on your Turner's, but I bought and sold multiple off roster at different locations. Only location I'd consider going to locally is the one in Lake Forest, but not sure what part of the state you're in

Really helpful thanks, the magazines I have for it are fixed to 10rds but technically have higher capacity than that. Would I not be able to include these with the gun?

Depends on the FFL. If they are pinned/riveted likely won't have a problem. If they are blocked internally, may be iffy. This is a place where a big corporate store like Turner's would be more cautious and likely not allow
If the buyer has a CCW, safe handling demonstration is not required, therefore magazines aren't necessary to include

Best advice I have is any “accessories” can be taken care of without the FFL’s presence.
