People who get upset and lose their minds over an emoji deserve to be singled out and laughed at.

My problem with emojis is that they are vague and can have many meanings. They generally create confusion and misunderstanding.

Why can’t people say what they mean in plain English?

The use of emojis constitutes a dumbing down of communication. They cater to the lowest common denominator.

I went to all of the messages and did the emoji not just yours so i def wasnt targeting. I was simply making a joke about the loss of these and how to reply to over priced stuff.

The fact that you also went to all of the messages is misuse.

I’ve repeatedly stated to use the $ emoji which is labeled pricey.

Do you see how this can still be considered abuse of the rules? I treat people like adults. I leave room because it is easy to remove and also problematic people self identify.

I didn’t give you a warning, so don’t take it so seriously. Just making it clear Misuse of features is against the rules.

All correct, but beside the point. The author already changed the title to fix the problem.
More generally:
1) Do a search for "iphone killed punctuation". There is a real issue at play, one which does cause
problems.
2) My take is there may be a few dozen people under age 40 that understand the issue. Yet there
is an issue and it is getting worse.

I was just on the "Funny Picture Thread" and I wanted to add a (Genuine SMILE or laugh) to some of them!
But it was not available... I gave some thumbs up, but It feels like those are good for agreeing with people that
post good comments and who add Good info I feel The "Funny Thread" just "hits different", and I want to let them
know I Actually, Genuinely, Laughed at their post and not just agreed to it.... It just felt wrong...and that happy face
with the Star Eyes is just weird..lol Maybe we can replace it with a better one? Thanks for the Rant!

Can you remove the apostrophe?
Plurals, like "cats", "dogs" or "emojis" do not have an apostrophe. Other uses, like contractions and indications
of possession, are not needed. English lets us write "Do not step on the turd belonging to the cat.". No need for '

Eventually I’ll look at adding something back because I like a good emoji. I just have to find a good one to replace it. Since this went into place, I haven’t had one complaint, which tells me this was the right thing to do. Significantly fewer reports and we’ve added a moderator. So things are looking better.
