I believe if you can't say anything then you don't say anything. This thread is a perfect example of why.

You don't necessarily create a good discussion, but you do set up expectations, which in this case haven't been realized. Disappointment sucks, which provokes more frustration and anger.

On top of that, you can lose credibility when you get peoples hopes up, even if it is truthfully the state's or manufacturer's fault, or factors out of anyone's control.

I think it's just better to announce things when there is something to announce. Or keep it as a "rumor", I don't know. Maybe there's a good point in the middle.

I can be nice, but saying that someone that continually cries wolf shouldn’t be bulled is wrong. They got bullied off reddit for the same thing. Stop posting rumors as an “authority”. I get it they spend money here, they are trying to “help”. Doesn’t excuse getting called a spade. If we cant call our own community out for pour behavior, oof.

You can do that, just do it respectfully. People call me out all the time. I'm ok with it as long as it’s constructive it’s ok to be critical.

Whether they support or not, being respectful is a fundamental philosophy here. Even if they didn’t I would want everyone to be respectful to one another. It’s just better for everyone.

I totally get your point though. That kinda clarifies things for me too. Sometimes I go off the hinges too, so I totally understand.

I think we also need to have some grace. It’s a hard business to run a gun store in CA with the high tax, costs, and limited product pipeline. My local store closed in August due to hard sales. I don’t disagree it’s not optimal to hype things that do not happen, but they are trying in a hard state.

They knew what other gun dealers knew..... we were told things were getting approved this week.... Then Wednesday the MFG reached out to dealers and explained a new issue thats pushing back the retail release....but are still being told in the next few days to be "added" to the roster....

I'm sure the info will be released publicly soon but not trying to upset my suppliers.

This is why you don't count chickens until they hatch...
