Sig vs Glock

Glock 45, definitely. Or any 9mm Glock, compact size and up.

I personally just don’t understand the love for Sig striker fired triggers. I don’t like the hollowed out shape of the triggers, and I don’t like how they feel to me, which is a bit spongy. My experience seems different from all Sig lovers. I have the X5 Legion and p365 XL, as well as the xmacro comp. I prefer shooting the G45. But the p365 series is easy to carry and better than a G43/48 in my hands.

Now, Walther PDP and HK Vp9A1 triggers…wow! I’m just talking about OEM triggers. Though the VP9A1 is my favorite pistol now. Even more than the G45. Just not in some SHTF situation over a Glock.

A lot of people put the sig flat-faced trigger in, it's a fairly easy replacement. P320 M17, X Five Legion, 365X-Macro all light and crisp triggers, certainly not "spongy" to me.
Still, for SHTF reliability I'd probably grab my 19 Gen5, it's not just about the trigger.

I wouldn’t describe my P365 trigger as light and crisp, it has quite a long pull (not pre travel) that kinda stops and restarts in steps sometimes, not super smooth. I wonder if it has to do with the coating flaking/chipping off on the striker face like is so often reported. Not like an Echelon or PDP trigger. The SA on my SP2022 (I think the same trigger as a base p226?) is much better

those areas of friction that you feel in the pull are often from the FCU having slight variations in the steel bars having slight imperfections and catching during the movement. grease helps, light polishing is effectively too (make sure you know what you are doing). Its not consistent either - I have 2 different P365 FCUs - one is perfection and the other might have been mfg'd on a Friday or a Monday....not terrible, but some grit in the movement.

Id still pick it over a glock every single time.

Yes, and you just reminded me it's overdue for a cleaning and lubing. Lots of buildup which probably isn't helping.

I won't own a striker fired Sig again. The 226 is proven, so I am to assume newer hammer fired Sigs will be fine. The way they handled the 320 put a bad taste in many people's mouths.

Interesting. This is the “sponginess” that I feel on my Sigs. I expect a cleaner break. Also, my p365s require a break in period before the slide racks more smoothly.

Glock triggers are definitely mushy, but I find the mush predictable, so I’m not bothered by it. I have more trouble locating the exact break in Sig striker fired pistols.

Why the MK25, specifically? I wanted that model initially, but discovered it was the one p22X where the trigger isn’t as smooth. A gunsmith told me it may have to do with increased friction from the treatments/coating done to protect it from salt water (Navy Seal sidearm, after all).

I ended up with a p229 legion when I got a great deal.

Theyre ok, ive been trying to practice with them since theyre both new to me. Got g48 in february, and g45 last month. I shoot better with sigs.

Yes this is my problem with my p365 trigger. It’s like you hit the wall, but then you think you push through it and it lightens for a sec and then catches again and gets heavier and hits the real wall before it breaks. Sometimes it “skips” once, sometimes a couple of times before it actually breaks, like the sear is skidding/skipping along instead of smoothly gliding. I agree Glock triggers feel odd and mushy, and break like a carrot, but it’s at least predictable. I’ve gotten used to my g19 and can actually shoot it pretty well now

Never heard that before. I added the short reset trigger, it's amazing. Navy is the best branch, that's why. P226 is already amazing, now it can last through everything with that chrome barrel
