Thinking of selling the Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp. What would you recommend as a replacement?

a few of the big hard left DA's were recalled out like in LA and SF. Laws didn't change. But all the FUD seem to run away when you ask for cases where a self defense shooting was charged. It is rare and happens when you have bad facts - like shooting someone fleeing or that didn't pose a threat of GBI death

And post COVID public perception against criminals has changed as well and Gen Z is more conservative and pro gun

Mine has XS sights, a Chen Custom flared magwell and the custom VZ Grips to go with it. I have a Malkoff flashlight with an 18350 battery that I carry on my belt or in my pocket; the lanyard really helps for two-handed tasks.

I have the Bodyguard 2.0 with Carry Comp and Pebble optic by Gideon (green), but I'm realizing that I only want to own guns I can train with and like shooting. Turns out, I don't really like shooting small guns, even if they conceal amazingly well. I also sold my Ruger LCP Max, and I don't like most of the small guns I've tried.

I do own a P365 with Ramjet and Afterburner. Shoots nicely. I have a PCR which could conceal well and I'm pretty accurate with it (no optic). I also have a Dan Wesson Compact.

I'm looking for a replacement "small" gun that can be used for EDC, but which actually shoots well too. Some options are the Glock 26, Shield X, Walther PDP Compact, and maybe even a P-10C Ported (if I can find one).

What's a small, EDC-capable gun that you like shooting and is accurate out to 15 yards or so?

P365-380, 80x if you’re going off roster. I have an OG Shield the I prefer over the updated flat face trigger ones. Was not a fan of the 43 or 43x.

Two suggestions (I am sure someone has mentioned them...

S&W Shield X or Shield Plus...both highly overlooked but amazing pistols.
HK P2000SK - a bit bulky but with a little work they are amazing and will last long enough to leave to your kids...

Second the Shield X and Shield Plus - I am putting all three (including BG 2.0) on my CCW, mostly for platform continuity with carry guns. However, I find I enjoy shooting the X and Plus. BG is ok to shoot, but I’m keeping it mostly for concealment convenience.

Ok. Hypothetical. If you had to choose between the p2000sk and the cheetah 80x. Which would you do? Does the .380 give you pause? The dimensions of cheetah and p2000sk and shield X are almost the same except for the thicc ness of beretta

I think the Beretta has some real nostalgia, but the off-roster price is stupid. (Girsan has a CA-legal copy that is around $500-$600 but I have no idea on quality.) I think the HK is a better gun for the money. Over-engineered and over built.

The MC14T is a breach load. Other models such as BDA are off roster as well

Try a Sig P938. It is as small as the LCX or Bodyguard, but actually fun to shoot.

I have a vp9sk that I carry and it is slightly fatter then the 80x. Love my .380’s, the round doesn’t give me pause at all, my main carry in TX was my p365-380 until fall winter, then I would jump up to 9mm. No one here wears coats or heavy jackets like north Texas does in the winter so .380 all the time wouldn’t bother me.

Was going to say the 365 axg legion that recently got added to the roster but you do have the 365 already. Pdp compact is nice too but a bit too chunky

I love the CSX E series. I wish I didn't have to pay the off roster mark up but it's a ton of fun to shoot

I had a CSX and holy it was bad, I wanted to love that pistol but the trigger and the insanely stiff safety killed it. The E-Series fixed it. They are fun to shoot now.

I’ve got an X and a BG 2.0, both will be in my carry rotation soon. Agree that the X is better to shoot, agree about carrying the BG 2.0, but I’m pretty happy with the way the BG shoots, it’s a lot closer to the X than it has any right to be.

What holster are you guys using for those 3:30-4 o’clock carriers in here? I like my T1C Echo holster for my p365 but they don’t have one for the bodyguard 2.0.
