While all the options NYPD has for duty pistols are unlikely to have uncommanded discharges, we must be wary of jumping to conclusions and potentially misleading less versed members without having all the details and facts.

Personally I'd like to know what pistol was involved, what kind of holster, and what led up to the discharge.
