No one cares how good you are, as long as you’re safe. Seriously. Follow the first 5 rules of USPSA and no one will have a problem with you being on their squad:I have my orientation class on Saturday to join my club in their competition; it's in Concord. Every video I see has left me humbled. I just hope to make it fully through the class before deciding that there's no way in hell I'm good enough for this.
The guys in Concord are awesome. We all started somewhere. Competition shooting is the medium for you to learn how to get better. Don't be shy and as long as you're safe, everyone will welcome you with open arms.I have my orientation class on Saturday to join my club in their competition; it's in Concord. If you're signed up for a "major" then there's usually a matchbook with all the stage designs and sometimes even written stage briefing. My suggestion to anyone new wanting to try out the sport is to show up early and walk the stages before the start of the match so you have some idea of stage planning. How far in advance do you find out course of fire?
Come out on saturdays and there are several steel stages to practice on and also a USPSA stage to get some practice in and dip your toes into the water for that game.Took the Concord class on Saturday and I've signed up for the next steel challenge match that's in a month. The RO's were great and so was everyone in the class.
I have only iron sites and a 3.9" barrel. It was a challenge hitting at 25 yards. I plan on being pretty bad. But if I enjoy it I'll have a great excuse to buy a new gun. But, then I'll no longer have an excuse to be bad.
Keep up the great videos! It's inspiring.
I'll try tomorrow, maybe.. I'm MD for the match tomorrowAnyone shoot the heart shaped stage at RRGC today?
