Unbelievable. We have been banned on Instagram for the 2nd time so far, even though we do not attempt to list any IG sales. Someone is definitely out there reporting our posts, etc. How do other FFLs keep their IG page active ?!

You’d have to look at the posts they’re reporting to see why they’d find that.. might be the banners in the background if you aren’t showing a price

@Route66ShootingSportsPark Try and keep checking to see if there are any new fake account(s) that is similar to your handle, sometimes scammers try and ban the actual user and make an account very similar to work unsuspecting users and/or hurt reputation.

I would just park here in this space . This is a good spot . I get that Reddit has a farther reach but over time I think true 2a CA enthusiasts will end up here .

Yeah mine is legit ban, I told some guy I trade my g34 for g17L, I guess that’s a sin. I was going to go through an FFL and do it legally.

Yeah that’s a transaction for a firearm. They don’t know if you’re going through FFL or not. You shouldn’t mention trades, buying or selling.

In either case, yes the mention/idea of firearm sale/trades is a no-go. Had it been a slide trade then shouldn't have been a problem, especially since the frames are identical

Sad to hear that man, Reddit's been cracking down with TOS stuff, especially since the whole stock offering opened up. At least now this and other communities are growing and absorbing the shutdown of several 2A subs

I've been suspended/ banned from GAFS before on this username.

3 day suspension for trying to sell pair of Silicone Boobies as Buttstock material during Send it Sunday. (I got like few dibs and messages of people wanting it lol, it did get sold to a gunowner.) The fun in the comments was worth it.

A perm ban that got reduced for something me and another calgunner/cagunner did unknowningly. I don't know if he got his ban reduced as well.

Personally, any site that would kick me out, I'd never go back, f' 'em!

But if you insist on reincarnating yourself somewhere that's booted you, google "proxy servers" and educate yourself on that tactic. It routes all of your communications through one (or more) other servers, AFTER your primary internet service provider. This changes your IP address so that you cannot be identified in any way. It's a standard, basic hacking technique for hiding the origin of the sender.

I've used this technique successfully, long time ago, to accomplish some... sketchy things. If you are really paranoid and doing stuff that is illegal, you can route your traffic through servers in countries that do not recognize U.S. law enforcement requests or subpoenas (like Iran, North Korea, etc.). So not only can the target site NOT identify you, but U.S. law enforcement can't track you down either.

Most sites/forums require an email address to join. Of course, you must create that new email address using proxy server(s) also (if you're doing "stuff" where U.S. law enforcement might subpoena the email provider).

There are SOME proxy servers that include the originating IP address in the header information they forward to the receiving site. But there are tools online that let you test that functionality, so you'd need to do your homework in that area also.

It's a pain in the a$$ to do all that, and probably not worth the effort to rejoin a forum that's already booted you once.

Yes VPN and Proxy Servers can be helpful in hiding your originating IP address. However there are a multitude of other more sophisticated and evolved ways to identify your digital footprint and that you've had an account on the site before. Not that it can't be done but it becomes a matter of if the juice is worth the squeeze, you could get back on, create accounts, join subs, etc., only to log in one day a month or two later to find yourself discovered and banned again.

My first choice would be a ban appeal, which you have up to 6 months to file.
