What’s the quickest in-and-out DROS experience you’ve had at a store?

My wife always knows when I buy a new firearm because I’m usually gone missing for hours doing DROS at Turner’s or Bass Pro. Going to 2A Zone with an appointment is somewhat better, but there’s still usually a line.

Today, though, I went to a LGS to buy a Springfield Echelon Gear Up bundle and was out in 13 minutes (no prefilled 4473, started from scratch), including the minute I wasted trying to find the fourth mag in the bag.

What’s the quickest DROS you guys have ever had?

Yeh don't go to Bass Pro or Turner's they just take forever. Most of the time the people there are standing around doing nothing. Your Local Gun Shop will get you in n out (lol) in less than 20 mins. I remember going to my LGS about 30minutes before closing and was out before they started putting stuff away. I also made a purchase at Bass Pro's, I had an appointment for pickup but took about 4 hours.

I was very impressed with GLS Armory too. Great home-based FFL, pro setup, super efficient PPT process, great guys.

Not a store but FriendlyFFL is pretty damn fast.

Recently did PPT AT Aeon Tac in Garden Grove and OCOutdoors
Both were extremely fast, maybe 10 minutes

Aeon TAC in GG is fast. Another fast great FFL is Riflenetics in GG. Andrew is the man. Both in and out in roughly 15mins.

Best part is, it's all PC/iPad based. None of that old school paper/pen you gotta fiddle with. But I give it to Riflenetics only because they release on undetermined whereas AT does not.

Having done som ~40 PPTs here is my take.

Fastest by far UG Imports in Fremont. In and out in under 10 minutes for DROS, and less than 3 minutes for pickup. Excellent service.

The worst by far, Turners in Pittsburg CA. I ordered the gun from them in person and that took over an hour. The pick-up though was also 1 hour. The guy helping be kept getting distracted by conversations employees where having with customers. He would leave for 10 minutes at a time to handle the gun some customer was looking at or to talk shop with someone. To top it off, he brings out the wrong gun. Granted it was the same make and model but NOT my serial number on the paperwork. Took him another 15 minutes to find it in the back. Once brought out he thought it was necessary for him to rapid rapid dry fire my brand new Henry .357 Tactical lever gun. I mean like 5-7 times to show me how fast he could do that. WTF! Never again at Turners even if they were giving guns away!

Gun Bros. in Burbank has always been quick for me. 2 PPT DROS in 2 years, each one was like 18 minutes. It's a tiny store and I've never seen more than one customer in there at a time. They're very friendly and move quick.

Usually 10-15 minutes locally. Most times its longer is either store is super busy, or the PPT buyer is really slow at filling out paperwork. No big deal either way to me.

BAss Pro is not the greatest - i go to my "dealer" - retired cop who does FFL from his home and i go to other gun shops - they are way better for that than BP, they should just stick to selling boats and clothes
